Bush simply realized that there was no point in wasting political capital.

Well, gosh no! Can't be wastin' none of that precious "political capital!" No siree! Gonna SAVE that "political capital" for somethun' REALLY important.

You know, I used to save decorator candles. Many women do. Trouble is, they get old after a while, and before you know it, you end up throwing them away. I threw many beautiful candles away before I finally realized that it was more enjoyable to use (burn) them.

I wonder how much longer Bush is going to save that political capital. Let's hope that by the time he decides he needs to use it, it's not too late.
