Daschle and his comrades block enviornmentally friendly oil exploration in Alaska, and favors Ethanol - which appears to produce more enviornmental damage than regular unleaded gasoline. What's a RAT to do?

Ethnol is a hazard and a waste of energy. It takes nearly a gallon of gas to make a gallon of ethanol.

One of the most consistent rules of the physical world is that you don't get something for nothing! Some people have not learned this rule. Example: electric cars, sounds great, ,no pollution right? Wrong, it's just displaced pollution. Somewhere the power is being generated by nukes, coal, hydro, wind, natural gas, ect. Each with it's price

Yep - good 'ole ethanol - the salvation of all our pollution problems. Let's produce it (at a much higher cost/and with as much or more pollution than gasoline), add it to our gas supply (hard on some engines), and it will clean our air up! yippie....

"formaldehyde and acetic acid, both carcinogensAcetic acid is vinegar and definitely not a carcinogen.
BTW, The area around some of these plants has been rendered quite nostalgic, it smells like the adults I knew when growing up. LOL

Acetic acid is vinegar and definitely not a carcinogen. If you are force-fed gallons of it for years, ya never know.
