Maybe a gay predator. I doubt most heterosexual guys really care to spend much time in gay bars and it seems like years is kind of long to find a victim, probably most 'straight' murderers of gays are latent homosexuals. All murders involve hate anyway.

I see no sense in "hate" crime legislation either. Whether this guy was a gay in denial, who knows. But there must have been a reason why the local police decided to attribute it, at least initially, to a "hate" crime. Gay on Gay doesn't make any sense in that regard. I don't think there is a grand police conspiracy to hawk the gay agenda, ya know.
