Two soldiers injured in land mine explosion near Kosovo border

Sun Apr 28, 1:28 PM ET

BELGRADE, Yugoslavia - Two Yugoslav soldiers were injured when their vehicle drove over a land mine in southern Serbia near the Kosovo border, the government said Sunday, calling the incident a terrorist attack.

The two soldiers drove a van Saturday evening over the mine planted on a side road leading to the military base in the village of Dobrosin near Bujanovac, a town 280 kilometers (175 miles) southeast of capital Belgrade, Bujanovac officials said.

The blast destroyed the army vehicle and both officers, ages 33 and 27, were hospitalized. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

The army was investigating, and observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation (news - web sites) in Europe also inspected the site.

Later Sunday, army Col. Milovan Simovic said security forces in the region had increased their combat readiness after the explosion. The mine likely was planted just before the army vehicle passed by, the colonel said.

The region around Bujanovac — just across the border from Serbia's southern Kosovo province, which is run by NATO (news - web sites) and the United Nations (news - web sites) _was the scene of fighting between government forces and ethnic Albanian insurgents before a peace settlement was reached last year.

The local Bujanovac government appealed Sunday to the region's predominantly ethnic Albanian population and "all relevant political factors in the area to prevent similar incidents in the future."

I'm afraid that NATO is part of the problem and has been ever since the early 90's. NATO troops have done an absolutely miserable and amateur job of controlling violence against Serbs by Albanian and other "imported" Muslim terrorists. It needs a complete overhaul and even a reorientation of policy and implementation but the Eurotrashers are at this point unable or unwilling to do so. I'm not sure what the US is doing but NATO was dismally abused by the Clinton/Albright/Blair troika.

Your use of the word "animals", to describe people is revealing. Would you also call them sub-human, would you propose a final solution?

Went to a Slava for St.Lazarus last evening. Lots of "fast" food....Pascha is coming up you know and the Great Fast continues even at a Slava. Lovely foods had been prepared and we enjoyed ourselves.

As to Kosovo....the West will someday come to regret its support for the dirty low down scoundrels, the kla and their ilk.

BLOW-BACK...yes, that is what it is called....9-11 is JUST an example.

You croat, albanian and bosnian muslim lovers should KNOW ALL ABOUT the final solution....your good buddies tried it on the Serbs, the Jews and Romas during WWII.

It is so interesting how the olds nazi allies have become the allies of the NEW WORLD (dis)ORDER....the anti-christ is working and his allies are still the ones he had in WWII....and, even some he had from WWI. He has added nato forces to his entourage now....mulims and their moon god, top his list.

You can alter the title of a post to make it more accurate, to the point, etc., as long as you indicate that you are doing so. In this case I incorporated an item from the body of the article into the title with quotation marks.

The Croats, Bosnian Muslims and Albanians were as a whole, enthusiastic Nazi allies.

Animals can be defined by their behavior. Some you cage, some you put down.

Those Albanians that serve in and support the umbrella group known as the UCK/KLA a group which is allied to that other umbrella group known as the al-Qaida are animals and need to be caged or put down.

Another word for them is barbarians.

The offical policy of WWII Croatia, Bosnia and the Albanians was to support HITLER!!!! No matter how that little croatian nazi APOLOGIST tries to make it seem so innocent... THE STUPIDITY of his comments is so obvious.

Hell, I can find a list of American citizens who supported hitler.....BUT THE POLICY OF THE USA WAS ANTI-NAZI. Serbia was ANTI-NAZI and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS DIED as a result. 500 American flyers were saved FROM THE NAZIS by Serbs...NOT BY croats, bosnian or albanians!!!!!

One of my Dad's war-time pilot friends was shot by a nazi croatian/utaschi soldier as he made his way to escape after a bail-out....the chetniks arrived and saved him. He got back to England and went on to deliver more bombs to the nazis....BOOM ba BOOM!!

...and those are the same Chetniks that sided with the Nazis over and over again throughout the war.

Tropoljac, that communist propaganda is perhaps good for former communists in Yugoslavia but you keep forgetign you are not on Communist Party meeting, you are on American site.

If you forgot, Chetniks and Gen. Draza Mihailovich were awareded Congressional Medal of Honour by President Truman. Please take your communist propaganda elsewhere!
