Israel Radio reported at 7:00 PM that Saudi officials say the Saudis have massed 8 brigades on their border with Jordan in response to intelligence reports that Israel has massed forces along the length of its border with Jordan.
Israel Radio further reports that a military spokesman in Israel denies the information.

I doubt the Saudis could redeploy 8 brigades in less than a month.

Shocking isn't it?

The Saudi's and the Jordanians are fearful of Palestinians rushing into their country.

This AM on the local CBS station there was a commercial. I just caught part of it. The gist of it was "Don't listen to talk radio or believe everything you hear or read. Then it had a quote, I think it was from Bush. Something about Saudi's being peaceful. At the end it had "From the Saudi people".
I've also heard some radio commercials pushing the "Saudi Peace Plan".

Wonder who the Saudis are trying to impress? Their own extremist population, maybe?

I doubt the Saudis could redeploy 8 brigades in less than a month. It's a small kingdom: a brigade consists of a general, four wives, and a dozen people to serve them.

I'd like to see these 8 brigades of Saudis up against 8 brigades of French soldiers - who would surrender first?

They'd fight a battle to the death for the distinction.

Don't laugh.
They have a huge military machine which they have built up behind our backs.

The Palistinian idiots are hoping for a mircle. Even 8 brigades is something to hope for...if it were true, which it probably is not. Its likely to be two brigades near the border area on exercises. The Saudi military is the least likely of all neighboring countries to be able to take on the Israelis.

Eight brigades of what?
