Charleston, West Virginia - The circus is coming to town, but not everyone is celebrating.
A woman described as a "stripper for a cause," Kayla Worden, participated in a PETA demonstration in front of the Charleston Town Center.
Worden knelt in a cage, painted like a tiger. Worden was not totally nude. Her breasts were covered with small stickers, and she was wearing panties.
Worden was able to hold her demonstration without interference from the police. Officers standing by said as long as she's somewhat covered up, there is nothing they can do ... she isn't breaking any laws.
Worden is from Ashville, N.C. She has been touring cities where the Ringling Brother Barnum & Bailey Circus is visiting. Worden and other PETA representatives claim circus animals are confined and abused for the sake of human entertainment.
Worden says she doesn't often run around naked, and it makes her uncomfortable. However she says kneeling in the cage naked for an hour is nothing compared to the torture circus animals endure.
The overall message of the protest is for people not to attend circuses with animals.
People watching the protest had mixed reactions. A woman and her daughter, tourists from Germany, say they aren't surprised and would do the same thing, just not naked. Another man says he agrees with the woman's message but isn't certain being naked is the way to go.

It's sad when PETA is forced into such drastic measures to get their point accross. Apparently they don't get it that no one is listening.

I have about ten issues I'd like to get media attention for. But one bimbo gets in a cage with pasties on and it's national news. I guess it's not demeaning for women to display their bodies if it's for a left wing cause.

Speaking of torture, did you have to post her picture?

It is a good thing the legislature isn't in session, she (stripper) probably knows most of them by name.

All these PETA protestors insist on being naked and it begs the question: Just what am I allowed to eat? |

Wild animals don't belong behind bars.
They belong on my dinner plate.

Speaking of torture, did you have to post her picture? I suggest you look again. From the visual stimulus standpoint, she's above average.

Wow, the circus didn't used to have naked women when I was a kid.
THANK YOU PETA! (I'll definitely have to support the circus now.)
