Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD--The U.S. Army is planning to conduct a series of tests using national radar systems. These tests will provide the U.S. Government with initial data on the feasibility and current capability of commonly-used radars to detect chemical and biological agents. The tests are designed to detect the aerial release of a chemical or biological threat agent based on the use of simulants; detect distances on the release points; track dissemination patterns; and collect and analyze data. This leverages Department of Defense efforts to assist in the homeland defense mission by protecting the public against chemical and biological agents. If the test effort is successful, this technology may be used to provide a rapid chemical and biological detection umbrella for early warning and national preparedness.
Testing will occur over five days to begin15 April 02. Experienced pilots provided by the Environmental Protection Agency will use crop dusting equipment to disseminate the materials required to simulate the release of a chemical or biological threat. The materials selected to simulate these threats are environmentally benign and include such things as egg whites and clay dust. These simulants are routinely used in detection and protection capability studies conducted by the Department of Defense and were selected for their safety in regards to human health and the environment and their ability to represent a spectrum of possible chemical and biological threats.
The tests are being conducted in coordination with, and with the assistance of, a host of local, state and Federal organizations to ensure maximum safety to the public and protection of the environment. These include: the Federal Aviation Administration, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection; the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary; the Monroe County Marine Services; the Monroe County Administration offices; the U.S. Coast Guard; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations National Weather Service; the National Severe Storm Laboratories; and various branches and agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense.

Two Fat Alberts (Downward Radar Blimps) are tethered to Cudjoe Key
I don't think Fidel feels too frisky about landing on Duval Street
The Navy has stationed a frigate and several more minesweepers in Key West since the beginning ( <-- spelled properly this time) of the year ...... and of course we all believe the sub base is closed (Ha)
Bring Fidel on
.
If Fidel lands on Duval, you can take comfort in the fact that he won't win the Hemmingway Lookalike contest.
If memory serves, I believe the Army did something like this over KW with influenza just after WWII

Si, y Cayo Largo. "We had it all, just like Bogey and Bacall....starring in our own late, late show, sailin' away to Key Largo."
Those REALLY were the days! Now my late, late consists of sitting up working. This flick would get very bad reviews!
.
Just about 10 seconds of film was shot on the key which we now call Largo
The shot of the hurricane blowing at the outside of a building in which we are to believe the actors are all holed up in
The building is The Caribbean Club .... once an all night tavern know affectionately to locals as the Carribe
It's still a great gin mill but now they have to close for a couple of hours each day
.
I didn't know! Thought I knew everything as my ex had been raised in Key West and pumped my head full of lore. Wasn't African Queen shot in Key Largo? The boat from the movie, or a replica, is on display at one of the hotels.
We registered to vote in Monroe County rather than Lee, where we lived fulltime. Bob said we'd never get called for jury duty, as Monroe County people are too independent to show up for such things. You live in a wonderful place! I'm jealous!
I thought thats what the chemtrails were for. Well at least I know what's going to be on Art Bell for the first hour tonight.
