Sharon calls for immediate construction of "separation" fence

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon today instructed the IDF and Israel Police to begin constructing a separation fence in the Tulkarm and Jenin areas, and around Jerusalem. The fence is part of Sharon's plan for "buffer zones" along the Green Line to separate Israel from the Palestinian territories.

They should not forget to fence in the overhead section as well. Something resembling a cage should do nicely. And while they are at it, they can construct some towers in which to station some highly trained snipers.

These first moves are necessity to the current and future security and safety of Israel. Arafat and the Palis will never halt all aggressions against the Israeli people. The Arab/Muslim world, wants the total destruction of Israel. PM Sharon has no alternative.

Of course, the French could have figured out that the Germans were smart enough not to try and go directly through the wall. It's a shame, really. It would have been interesting to see how this marvel of engineering would have worked.

i live in a walled community with a gate guard..keeps the riff raff out that used to cruise the neighborhood in search of goods. many neighborhoods here in south florida have done the same to provide a higher level of security. we are not dealing with homicide bombers...yet. if israel says a wall/fence would help, they ought to know.
