I bet these freaks wouldn't have even been charged if the dogs had killed a straight white male.

She certainly was that. I think the whole beastiality thing is just an internet rumor though. I don't know why people even mention it.

I agree with the verdict, I just think it would have been funny. What do have to loose at this point.

What is wrong with you? I said I absolutely agreed with these verdicts! Justice was absolutely served here! However I lived in Cali, and I can tell you this much, after living there especially, I do wonder if the verdicts would have been the same had she not been! LA is the same place where OJ got off and San Francisco... people there blame everything and everyone except the guilty party for everything that happens in life.

As far as I am concerned, this case had to do with personal responsibility and the owners of the dogs should and have been held accountable for the actions of their pets.

I agree that is what the case was about. I also agree the verdicts were absolutely right! But I cannot help but wonder if the victim had not been gay would the California/LA jury given the owners a pass like they have done time and again to guilty parties.

It's so unfair. They didn't even consider the post partum depression.

I'm not sure that dogs suffer from this particular disorder...

These defendants certainly deserved some time, like what her husband got, but LIFE for the nasty woman? Solzhenitzen was right when he said "All that is necessary for a person to be found guilty is to be sufficiently anti-social." Life? With no history of any other serious attack? Emotions ruled the day.

Well, I unlike the defense attorney, I agree 100% with the verdict... these two were guilty and culpabable as hell for this womans death...

I was applauding the verdicts. However, when this went to the grand jury, they not only indicted them for the involuntarty manslaughter, but--without the prosecutor requesting it, added in 2nd degree murder. These dogs, given their size and strength, were quite capable of killing anyone, including children, women and men. Simply because Whipple was a lesbian doesn't mean these people should've gotten a pass. The jury also asked that testimony from a man who had talked about the dogs' *interest* in his wife was read back to the jury. They were able to set aside the side issue of Whipple being a lesbian--an issue defense aattorney Nedra Ruiz exploited from day one--and I hope you can, too. The issue is that a woman is dead, viciously mauled, and the persons who owned these powerful and vicious dogs are now being held responsible for their actions and the actions of their dogs.

Let me get this straight, adopt an adult criminal so you can keep his vicious and turns out dogs in your apartment, then when they kill, as they certainly would, you aren't culpable? Please keeping those dogs in an apartment complex like that was absolutely wanton disregard for human life... which means MURDER.

Dog brain substituted for human brain ! These defendants simple stood by and allowed their crazed animals to rip another human being to pieces.

There will be an appeal because the defendants cannot legally be found guilty of both Second Degree Murder and Manslaughter. Looks to me like the judge screwed the pooch on his jury instructions.

If Defendant Noel has even a very small, working human brain, he had better flee to another country where there is no extradition.
