JALALABAD, Afghanistan - Terror suspect Osama bin Laden's financial manager, Ali Mahmud, was killed on Monday in a US airstrike in eastern Afghanistan, the provincial military commander said Tuesday. The news came from Haji Mohammad Zaman, military chief of eastern Nangarhar province who said earlier said that bin Laden was in a cave complex near here. Zaman said he was launching a major operation to encircle it.

Zaman said Mahmud was killed by a US bomb in the village of Wouchnow near the Tora Bora complex in the mountains south of Jalalabad where bin Laden was hiding along with hundreds of pro-Taliban Arab fighters. "Yesterday, when they bombed, they killed 18 persons ... (including) the financial manager of Osama, the one who was responsible for the money," Zaman told reporters here.

Zaman said his information on the death was solid and precise but did not give the source. He said Mahmud was killed around 8am (0330 GMT) Monday and funeral services had already been held. - AFP

Good point. I would think that a "death" could be purchased from our allies as the "corpse" is spirited away. We need to see the bodies. Don't trust and definitely verify...
