I was checking out the "So what music do freepers like?" (Vanity) forum today, and I realized that many of the people responding could only be within this age category (or slightly older or younger). I'm 20 years old (I will be 21 on Independence Day). I know there are many young conservatives and libertarians around here on Free Republic, but I think it's a good idea that we know who the others are in our young age group. My second point to posting this is to find out how you became a bunch of "right-wingers." So how did you become a conservative and/or libertarian? Or are you just a unclassifiable right-winger? How many think abortion is wrong, etc. So fire away young Freepers!

18 here and I am a die hard right wing conservative. I started became a conservative at a young age listening to Rush Limbaugh on car trips. Then I started watching movies that my sister had exposing the brainwashing going on in public schools, which drove me farther to the right. I now am currently at a liberal college and have fun arguing with the socialists about... everything.

Im actually 33. I also missed the music thread, but will check it out later. For years I didn't pay much attention to politics, I guess from about tenth grade till around the time just before the Lewinsky fiasco. I was mostly just doing other things. I was pretty involved in the street racing scene localy. Anyway, I was brought up to believe there is right and wrong way. Since I started paying attention I have found that most folks on the left side of the spectrum, don't believe in an actuall right and wrong, they think it's all relative. I just can't go that way.

I would say that I definitly lean to the libertarian side.

And all this time I thought I was jousting with a grownup; my son was born in 1965 and he is as ditzy a blonde as any female, but then I watched him climb out of his crib and land smack-dab on his crown when he was 11 months old, so he has a an excuse.
