David Shippers Speaks Out!!
www.warroom.com/archives ^

Posted on 09/13/2001 5:07:20 PM PDT by DataPro01

David Shippers, former House legal counsel for the impeachment investigation and author of Sell Out, was interviewed by Quinn on his radio show this AM. Shippers had some very interesting things to say....some examples, Shippers claims that he contacted the Justice Dept weeks agon with warnings that a large terrorist strike involving southern Manhattan was imimnent. He was ignored. He also states that our best Middle Eastern terrorist expert, an FBI agent, has yet to be consulted. Essentially, Shippers is stating that when all is said and done the American public will find that the authorities had lots of information on a potential strike yet did nothing...and that the quick arrests are because of this fact...and the brave actions of flight attendants who phoned in the seat numbers of the terrorists before they were killed. I think this information needs to be heard and discussed...and have been urging national news shows to interview Shippers ASAP. Shippers interview with Quinn can be heard archived at www.warroom.com/archives the Wed 9/12 show.

At the risk of wasting my time, I am going to try to make some sense with you.

Why are people like Chuckie Schumer and Tom DeLay on the same page?

You think it is because it is a grand CFR conspiracy. I will give you another alternate theory, with an example.

All of these different political people are on the same page becuse WE ARE AMERICANS, first and foremost. Deep in his heart, Schumer knows that if this country goes down, he has no where to go. DeLay loves this country and would like to save it for another generation. Therefore, victory is a common goal for these two very different men.

Now, did you see the movie Independence Day? Do you remember how the people came together under alien attack? Do you remember how the IRAQI soldiers cheered when the alien spaceship came down?

This is the same thing. It is like we have been attacked ny aliens. Please support the President and side with the survival of our nation. Anything else is treason, Harry, for this is war.

Today Wolfowitz said that sometimes one generation is called to sacrifice for a future generation. This is our time, this is our duty.

Stand with your nation, and drop the conspiracy theories. President Bush is a good and decent man, and he is going to do the best he can. He needs all our help. Please join us.

Thank you for your kind reply, Marple. I do support the president. I just find it rather frightening that Congress gave him a license to make war upon ANYBODY he wants to ANYTIME he wants to. It is also just a little strange that the Brokaw "wing" and the other side of the spectrum is calling (very feverishly) for the same things. Don't you smell a coordinated effort? I can be a patriotic American and jealous of my liberties at the same time...the Founders were.

What you are about to see in this country is a call for restricting liberties. In fact, we're already seeing it. The people will fall right into it, unaware of what the ultimate hidden goal is. As a Reagan Republican, you should be familiar with Reagan's views on liberty being indivisable.

We should find the people responsible for this horrendous act and do what is necessary. However we must be vigilant and very jealous of the very freedoms that we are fighting for.

Always nice seeing you,
Callahan

"Have you seen any black helicopters lately?"

Nope. The government and their reps on FR told us there WERE no black helicopters. Remember? Got pretty nasty about it too, calling folks that had "supposedly" seen them that they were KooKs. Remember?

So therefore, Flt 800 wasn't a missile shootdown, Waco was For the Children, Randy Weaver cut off shotguns for the revolution, OKC didn't involve M.E. John Does, and in this series of events the FBI and CIA have suddenly become totally competent.

How's that?

I am not going to argue with you about anything. You are a radical Fundamentalist and we all know that nobody can reason with a person like that. You are a Radical American Fundamentalist. You hope and dream for the past. An American past that is gone and it's not going to come back unless we are somehow forced back into a world exactly the way it was 200 ago. Not accepting that IS FUNDAMENTALISM. You are cut out of the same cloth as any Radical Fundamentalist. You think everybody is out to take something from you, you don't trust anybody, you think you know everything and everybody else is decieved. You have nothing but and gloom and visions of disaster for the future. That is a description of fundamentalism and you fit it perfectly.

The difference between you and guys like Ben Ladin is just really one of degree. But it is the same mindset.

You're getting a bad rap Inspector..

Some can't read what you're saying...

Some can't believe it...

Some are too ignorant of the facts to begin to get it.

We're living in interesting times. Maybe if the government had admitted the TWA 800 cause and the OK Bombing conspirators we would have done something about all this a long time ago....and prevented 9/11 from happening.

As far as this current situation.... isn't it interesting that an FBI that has been shown to be Keystone Kop-like for years now....that is caught totally by surprise on 9/11....already has suspects in custody, a 50 person cell of terrorists laid out, photos of the guilty and 99% completed ties to Bin Lauden......

It all seems to be coming together way too cleanly in light of the fact that we have had no conclusive evidence to work with in the past and now in 24 hours we have 99%.

BUT...There is a differnce between having liberties inconvenienced and the CFR. I don't want my liberties inconvienced either, but certainly it is not a result of the CFR -- that's all I'm trying to say, Harry.

While your post is still on the kook side of the ledger, it is closer to the line than normal. What happened? One very minor silver lining of all of this is that the Paleo agenda appears to be up against stronger headwinds than normal, even in this neighborhood. One, two, three, many Neocons. Cheers.

Harry,

Brokaw has been working on those books. My son gave me "Letters From the Greatest Generation" for my birthday.

I think Mr. Brokaw has been talking to a lot of my father's generation, and has seen that there are things far more evil than Republicans.

Not everyone in our country is going to have the same political viewpoint. But we ALL want the freedom to speak out, and to travel without fer of terrorist attack. ALL Americans want that for their children and grandchildren.

This threat supercedes any squabbling between left and right wings. This threat goes to whether or not the country survives. Taking the USA down is what the terrorists want. They are not just trying to kill people. They are trying to destroy the nation.

During times of war, some liberties are temporarily curtailed. That is part of war. Read about the 40's. It is a shame, but it is oneof the sacrifices we must accept. You will not be able to board a plane again without severe security precautions. So what? If you don't like it, take Amtrak.

This is not Desert Storm. This is World War II. Look at things in that context.

Sorry..posted the wrong show date. The person interviewed on the 9/12 show was Gary Aldrich…at about the 1 hour mark. It was the 9/13 show that Shippers was interviewed at about 1 hour 57 minutes into the show. And actually, Shippers has been on the show a number of times and Quinn sponsored a public appearance for Shippers in the Pittsburgh area a few months back Unfortunate that posting a comment made by someone rather well known brings out name-calling and put-downs. Not sure exactly what the point of that is… I have been posting on and off to Free Republic since it began, under a few different names, since that seems to be a concern to you. Now to your comments.....such as they were. As retired military and one who spent 20 years in various front line units, including 12 years anti-terrorist assignments in Germany and else where, I feel I have a relatively decent understanding of the terrorist mindset. For example, in Vietnam some of the most effective friendly units were the South Korean Marines. For one very good reason.....when the NVA or VC would wipe out a village friendly to US interests...they would go in and wipe out an NVA or VC village. They spoke their 'language'. You might recall what the Mossad did after the massacre of the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. It’s quite effective. The concept is simple......you make the price a terrorist...or those who assist and harbor terrorists… would have to pay much too high for them to act. You take away their refuge. You DO NOT try to act multilaterally...you do NOT try to get, for example, France's permission to act. In that scenario Afghanistan would be given x amount of hours to produce bin Laden. Failure to do so would result in serious damage being brought to bear on the Taliban infrastructure...and their opposition most likely taking power. Then you go in and either take bin Laden and company or, preferably, kill him. And the new boys in power have just learned a valuable lesson. You attempt to minimize collateral damage, but it is NOT a prime concern. While the concept is simple, its application is more involved. You have to deal with the moral argument, already arising from the left, that if we act unilaterally, we risk becoming the same as the enemy. It is an age-old moral equivalence argument and you may or may not want to consider that, but it does have to be dealt with. In an open society such as ours you will never be able to make things 100% secure. The ONLY option is to make a terrorist act way to expensive for them to contemplate. Incidentally, there have been many prominent calls to do just that for many years. They came from people like Bill Buckley, Newt Gingrich, and many, many of the top anti-terrorist military minds. Guess they are all idiots. Good thing you are here to set us all straight.

I think it is our duty to question authority. Challenge those counter-terrorism 'experts' at the State Department, FBI, etc. as to why we were caught with our pants down! They're collecting six figure incomes from our paltry paychecks, and they have failed us big time.

I'd like to see what these high level experts have to say for themselves, wouldn't you? I went to college with one of them...if he hasn't been fired yet, that is.

Harry, almost everyone came together, in the USA, when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. You and your ilk, on FR, are doing a horible disservice by spreading your bilge. Get a grip. This isn't some fictional book or movie. This is reality .

" PINKO " is a word from the Cold War times. It referrs to being not exacyly a card carrying Communist, but favoring Communistic positions and being pro-Commnist. It is akin to another word of that time : " fellowtraveller ". So, you are calling an ex V.P. of the USA ( Dan Quayle ) a Communist sympathizer. You've done this with no proof. You have libeled others with the same smear tactic. This is untenable !

Gee, let's see, how would YOU like someone, who doesn't know you, to level such a claim against you ? Maybe I and the rest of the FREEPERS, who are sick of this kind of garbage being posted on FR. shsould call the FBI and have them read ALL of these sorts of statements. You are making foolish posts. WHY ? Does it make you feel superior to your betters, to impugn them ?

Put a sock in it Harry.

There's so many of them now, by design, that the responsibility can't be assigned. Masterful lack of acountability.
