I don't think its a question of cover-up but rather one related to something Pres. Bush stated over and over again during the campaign: It is time to move on. I am in no way justifing his administrations decision but offering a possible explanation.

Also, W does not want to set a precedent where the Rats will start demanding documents for every prosecutorial decision that W's AG makes. As to these subjects, I think the facts should be aired via indictments and public trials. Oh, to dream....

It may be to move on, but the Justice Dept has begun a high level investigation into Mr. and Mrs. Clinton. It is really cranking up right now. It has been kept under wraps, which is why the media hasn't talked about it. Perhaps Bush realizes correctly that Congress is asking for the documents to look tough on Clinton Corruption but won't really do anything. Only a Justice Dept investigation will have teeth to bite the Clintons.

I just want justice for laws that were broken and why would Bush and Ashcroft want to protect Clinton from prosecution? Does he control them through blackmail with the FBI files?

There is no such thing as president executive privileges. According to the Supreme Court, on Nixon vs the U.S., in reference to the recordings of Water Gate, that was their ruling.
