The city of Kansas City has apologized after posting a message on social media revealing the residence of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker after the Super Bowl champion came under attack following his faith-based commencement speech at Benedictine College over the weekend. The official social media account of Kansas City issued a brief apology on X Wednesday after sparking major backlash on social media for sharing a post referencing the city where Butker resides.

Expressing traditional views about motherhood and sexuality is now so “controversial” that many are calling for Butker to be fired and banned by the league. His main sin was probably criticizing “Pride Month”. It is ok for gays to publicly mock Christianity with their “Hunky Jesus” floats and their Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, but Christians are apparently not allowed to criticize open mockery of their own faith.

Kansas City is in Jackson County, which voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, but not by a wide margin (8,000 vote difference in 2020), so probably the city of Kansas City voted for Biden and it was the suburbs which tilted more to Trump. Supposedly the mayor is non-partisan but I would assume actually a Democrat. The city is about 60% white.

It was Butker’s women-focused comments that infuriated the masses the most.
“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you,” Butker said. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
“I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker,” he continued.
Butker essentially ripped apart the playbook that the liberal, all-things diversity and inclusion crowd has been implementing for years. Given that the NFL has adopted that same playbook, like just about every other professional sports league, it didn’t appreciate Butker’s commencement speech.

I’m still trying to see how this is controversial.
Also, he never said women belong in the kitchen - he spoke about his wife, and her beliefs and experiences.
