Nolte: Democrat-Run California About to Get Hit with 50 Cent per Gallon Gas Tax
Breitbart ^ | 05/13/2024 | JOHN NOLTE

Posted on 05/13/2024 11:53:41 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

In today’s edition of Getting What You Vote For, the dummies in California are about to get hit with a 50 cent per gallon gas tax.

Remember, California voters have handed the Democrat party full power over the former Golden State. Democrats run everything from the governorship on down. Democrats not only hold majorities in the state legislature, they hold veto-proof majorities. In other words…

Republicans are powerless in California. And so…

According to Triple-A, the average cost of a gallon of gas in California today is $5.29. That’s nearly $1.70 more than the national average. In some parts of California, gas costs $6.32 per gallon. The lowest cost for a gallon of gas in that Democrat-run &*&*^%^% is $5.02.

Regulation 1598. Motor Vehicle and Aircraft Fuels.

Computation of Tax. Following are examples of prices computed on a tax-included basis
Sales price per gallon of gasoline net of all taxes $2.435
Federal excise tax * .184
State excise tax * .353
Total $2.972
* Sales tax reimbursement computed at 2¼%* of $2.972 .067
Total tax-included price per gallon $3.039

https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov/lawguides/vol1/sutr/1598.html

The fuel tax rate in this example is incorrect. The correct rate is $0.539

Better Example
Sales price $5.00
Federal excise 0.184
State excise 0.539
Total $5.72
Sales tax 0.0129
Total: $5.74

Taxing the taxes adds $0.0016 per gallon.

There is already $1.50 in taxes on fuel in Ca. So this would make it $2 taxes per gallon.

Show us the documentation on this. The source I cited say 66 cents plus the sales tax.

Current CA gas tax is 77.9 cents/gal according to The Tax Foundation. Current rate is an incompetent omission in the story.

“Show us the documentation on this.”

I just told you the truth cannot be found. It is scrubbed from the net.

State Fees, Surcharges, and permitting is not considered “taxes” by legal language. But they all contribute to the total state revenue income per gallon in indirect taxes. This is an absolute fact.

“The source I cited say 66 cents plus the sales tax.”

Absolute propaganda lie to cover the reality. They are paying less off the pipeline rack than we are in Az. So at a minimum everything over what we pay at $3.50 a gallon is a combination of fees, surcharges, and permitting. Combined these are all TAXES that other states do not pay.

Now my question is why would you even try to defend them? Do you even belong here? Work for Newsom?

The fact you would even TRY to defend California is extremely disturbing...

The word “taxes” is only half the story. There is at least the same amount in wholesale/delivery fees, surcharges, and permitting per gallon before it ever gets to the pump.

If I remember correctly, the way the secretary of state described the proposition on the ballot was confusing to most voters. If I remember right, it wasn’t described as a repeal of the gas tax, which was very unpopular, it was reducing infrastructure funding, or some such.

Vote with your feet. We left there in 2000 and were willing to live in a tent just to get way from the Communism. Best decision we ever made...

Why any “rational” person would still live there I have no clue.

“Very believable.”

Absolute fact. Have you ever sit down with a calculator and added up the true total of taxes, excise taxes, fees, surcharges, permit fees, registration fees, higher U.S. market costs, Etc. you pay out of your income every year to private corporations, county, state and federal?

These are ALL “TAXES” by different legal terminology labels. We are probably paying out at least 75% of our net income or more...

I have done it and the true number is absolutely infuriating...

I wish folks would wake up to this reality and STOP letting themselves be raped. Just say no and live without a few conveniences to stick it to their pocket book. Stop feeding the beast that hates us and only needs us to exist to line their pockets.

I personally think it’s just deserts for all the grifting punks who were paid covid money even though they never lost a day of work.

Yep... Ca is the testing grounds for unconstitutional law. Has been for as long as I can remember.

And the hits just keep on coming. I truly believe that there will be a monumental swing in California against all the woke and far left issues.

My 50th high school reunion occurred on Sept 30, 2023 in San Diego. I drove down from Pocatello, ID in my F150. Before leaving San Diego, I topped up my tank. It was $6.899 per gallon for regular. The weather was bad, so I stopped at Beaver, UT to sleep at 8 PM. The weather was better and I completed the drive home to Idaho. Before returning to my driveway, I topped up my tank. I paid $3.259 per gallon for ethanol free regular. I don't miss San Diego. Too expensive and crowded. Aside from seeing my sister and classmates, my visit was very focused on the reunion. I was uncertain that I was up to the trip. In retrospect, I understand why I was feeling like crap. Undiagnosed cancer. Dealing with that now. One of my classmates who pushed the limits to attend the reunion passed just 2 weeks later.

Finally the dem party can start maintaining the CA roads and highways.

Snort.
= = =

OK. You have a problem. That snort is CO2 expelling, or maybe more disardley Methane.

Or, you did a typo and meant ‘snore’, which is how Dems want us all to respond.

Well that would be because my fellow voters here in CA are as dense as the proverbial bricks. The Legislature came up with this massive tax increase, its repeal qualified for the ballot, then the idiot voters fell for the ads by the various public worker unions that police, fire, etc would be endangered if the repeal went into effect

I got an email last week from the California DMV asking me to sign up for a “per-mile” tax pilot program. They’ll pay me $400 if I participate, but I have to pay them the “per-mile” tax. Not going to do it.

Coming next to your town!
