Shortly after the unprecedented Iranian attack on Israel during the night of 13-14 April, a small group of news analysts and commentators began to warn that the attacks were not actually designed to damage Israel.
According to these analysts, and based on comments from anonymous officials, the true purpose of the attacks was largely two-fold: 1) allowing Iran to project a stronger image after repeated small-scale Israeli attacks against its interests in the region, and 2) giving Iran a chance to test Israel’s air defenses against a larger-scale attack than Israel had previously experienced.

If Iran did not already know where every air defense antenna was before all of this started they are doing a shitty intelligence job. The iron dome system has been operating for several years.
Suggesting Iran did the slow roll on purpose to “test the systems” was a theory written by someone who has played video games, but never learned about how intelligence is gathered.

While I agree the slow roll is a bit hard to swallow, I still think you’re giving Iran too much credit. There are a lot of things we still don’t know - like how much Intelligence sharing our own government has participated in with Iran - esp. after Biden’s admission that the U.S. has Intelligence on Hamas, tunnels and terrorists that could have already benefited Israel. With the billions we have given to the Iranian regime and the billions we have allowed it to accumulate by dropping sanctions and its sale of hydrocarbons to China and others, one has to wonder what info we would withhold. The scab has been publicly ripped off the wound in the American/Israel relationship. Who would now call us a friend of Israel but a fool.
