The rioters—for whom there’s evidence of the alleged confining of a person activity—should easily see charges of illegal confinement, if not kidnapping, be added in this case to a charge of intentional damage to property.
They should, and in a sane jurisdiction they probably would be, but NY and NYC especially are far from sane.
