Why has Macron gone from 'appeasing' Putin to threatening to send troops into Ukraine and drag NATO into WW3? French president envied Boris Johnson's war leadership - and it's a useful distraction from other issues…

'I am not ruling anything out,' Emmanuel Macron insisted in an interview published today, pressed on whether France would send troops to Ukraine in its hour of need.

The remarks echo a new tone on Moscow in recent months, the French President reiterating pledges roundly rebuffed by his allies in the US, UK and Germany.

Europe and the United States have now committed more than £130bn to Ukraine in aid but NATO members have stopped short of promising boots on the ground - with Putin still willing to exploit the threat of nuclear Armageddon when prompted.

While Macron has argued his comments have been 'weighted, thought through and measured', they stand in stark contrast to the pre-war perception of the French President as 'appeasing' Russia over Ukraine.

Today, the French leader faces criticism from all sides - polling low at home and agitating allies in Europe over Ukraine. But with the absence of a rival war leader in Western Europe, Macron has found not only a distraction from domestic issues but a new role in facing down a historic foe.

As his rhetoric on the war evolves, experts suggest Macron's poker face could be using 'strategic ambiguity' to unsettle Moscow. But France's allies will be left hoping Putin does not call his bluff.

The French President had a sombre warning for Europeans last week, telling guests at the esteemed Sorbonne University in Paris: 'Our Europe, today, is mortal and it can die. It can die and this depends only on our choices.'

No need to always make up ulterior motives for why nations say and do things.

He sees Russia making gains and he wants to let a warning be known not to go too far.

If France goes to war, that does not drag in NATO. If French forces go 1812 and conduct attacks inside Russia and the Russkis blow up the Eiffel Tower, that is still just France Vs Russia... not NATO.

Nato is not a suicide pact where Estonia can attack someone and everyone else has to join in.

If there’s a WWIII, it will be Putin that starts it. Putin will keep pushing to restore the Soviet Union until someone stops him.

“Our Europe, today, is mortal and it can die”

Send French troops to fight Russia and you’ll find out just how true that phrase is.

Macron is all show and PR image. He’s 1/16” (or 1.5 mm in metric terms) thick.

The only more fake, effeminate, and play-acting politician than him in the West is Canada’s Justin Dildo.

Perhaps its got something to do with the nature of post-modern leftist Gallic culture.

He has no children. Childless people should not lead nations. They have no connection to the future. He might feel different if he had a 17YO son.

” Nato is not a suicide pact where Estonia can attack someone and everyone else has to join in.”

Actually it is.

Worse than that, if a Deep State against the orders of its own government, engineers an attack against it, the NATO treaty still applies.

See how it works out.

It will work out like all the other mercenaries that went to Ukraine- destroyed in their barracks before they saw the line of contact…those that survived, returned to their countries and made videos of their “ adventures “- none were favorable to Ukraine.

Vlads “ intelligence “ trumps the western satellite photos they give Ukraine….there are many, many more Russian sympathizers giving locations than the Western narrative- what’s left of the Ukies in Ukraine simply have had enough-many are supporting negotiations which St Z has no interest.

I fully expect StZ to meet Mussolini’s end- strung up on a lamppost.
