Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota whose chance of being Donald Trump’s presidential running mate was widely deemed over after she published a description of shooting dead a dog and a goat, claimed reports of the story were “fake news” but also that the dog in question, Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer, was “extremely dangerous” and deserved her fate.
“You know how the fake news works,” Noem told Fox News. “They leave out some or most of the facts of a story, they put the worst spin on it. And that’s what’s happened in this case.

Collectively, we value this dog's life more than fully-formed babies in the womb, women abused by Joe Biden or on Epstein Island or all the Ukrainian conscripts sent off to die against their will as cannon fodder.
Had Noem shot a pit bull, she’d be praised as a smart and decent woman.
Her problem is that she shot an equally dangerous dog which happened to look so sweet and innocent.

now even Mitt Romney is pilling on her saying he didn’t kill a dog.
It's life was of no more or less value than cow turned into a steak dinner, football or Elmer's glue.
There may be other good reasons to oppose Noem being VP (like caving on the transgender issue) but not for this.
Oh my any campaign she is in her opponent will always be seen with a happy dog.
Dogs will be everywhere. Her ppponent will say and by the way I love my dog

It's like Free Republic had turned into a former for PETA members.
I bet almost everyone here fretting about this eats meat on regular basis. But, somehow, this dumb dog is now on a higher level of existence than cow, pig or chicken almost everyone eats everyday.
Are you a vegan? If not, how this dumb dog's life of any more or less life than cow, pig or chicken that most all of us EAT daily?
All the attacks on Noem are proving is that we've elevated animal life to the same or higher level as human life.
It's especially annoying from Democrats and pro-abortion types that believe killing unborn children all the way until birth is fine and dandy.

Maybe Kristi should have kept this whole incident to herself. She has demonstrated that her judgement is seriously flawed. I pretty much wrote her off for any higher office when she vetoed the trans sports bill.

Ditto. Plenty of things that would disturb people happen on farms, ranches, or regular households. No reason to include them in your campaign book.
Also, I agree, the trans sports veto was the beginning of the end for her. An early sign she was too clueless to make it in a MAGA world.
Kristi Noem is Michelle Bachmann 2.0 only 10 years later. Both were conservative darlings and then they flamed out.
Just a couple years ago, I took my old dog that was old and suffering on one last walk in the woods. Towards the end, I pulled out the pistol and ended her. Was it tough? Yes. Did it quickly put her suffering to an end? Yes. I dug the hole and buried her right there.
I didn’t need a vet bill and a slow fade away to make me somehow feel better. We didn’t need people around sharing in our sadness. It was a quick painless death, as she died immediately.
The dentist ad pushed me over the cliff.
Her quirky tv ads promoting South Dakota are kind of cringe worthy as the punchline is about her stupidity... She’s pretending to be a construction worker and oooooops.... makes s wrong cut and “I’m going to call that a sky light”. Then the one about her being a nurse and she wheels the gurney the back alley, then the one where she’s a plumber and causes Niagara Falls because she’s not qualified to work around pipes.

You have to wonder how many of the pits that end up killing a kid just get taken to the pound on strike one or strike two, just because people sweep a problem dog under the rug. Noem dealt with a problem herself.

Exactly. There are times to put down a bad dog , most are too gutless to do it .
