A Standard VAT rate of 20% applies to most goods and services in Russia. A Reduced VAT Rate of 10% applies to food, children’s clothes, books, medical equipment and some services. There is also a Special VAT Rate of 16.67% applicable to e-services.
VAT taxes suck!!!!
They also have virtually no property taxes to pay....almost like the right to their property is upheld. Point is, it’s not the same country and can’t be compared the same way. I think a more telling statistic would be the amount of old people who get thrown onto the street.
