U.S.-provided precision-guided munitions have failed in mission after mission in Ukraine, taken down by Russian electronic warfare. On Wednesday, the Pentagon revealed the latest casualty.
A new ground-launched version of an air-to-ground weapon developed for Ukraine on a rapid timeline failed to hit targets in part because of Russian electro-magnetic warfare, Bill LaPlante, the Pentagon's acquisition chief, said at an event held by think tank CSIS.
LaPlante suggested that Ukraine may no longer be interested in the weapon. “When you send something to people in the fight of their lives that just doesn’t work, they’ll try it three times and they’ll just throw it aside,” said LaPlante.

The DOD is trying to tell you it needs more funds.
DEI engineered crap.
The Biden manufactured war in Ukraine is becoming the biggest strategic disaster in the last 20 years.
Considering the other Biden manufactured situations in Afghanistan and the Middle East, that's saying a lot.
Due in large part to being too focused on fighting yesterday’s conflicts and not focused enough on military readiness. We’ve lost sight of what’s coming down the road and we’re not prepared for it. JMHO
The truth is extremely valuable in warfare. It is not too be wasted on public pronouncements.
I'm wondering when the Russian "Propaganda" transmitted to these missiles will convince them to turn around and go home?
It would have been far better if they worked out of the box but it’s far better than having them fail in an all out war with American boots on the ground.
“Considering the other Biden manufactured situations in Afghanistan and the Middle East, that’s saying a lot.”

The people seemingly supportive of Biden’s increasing commitments to Ukraine really need to take an objective look at his string of disasters. The mess in Ukraine is just an extension of every other mess Biden has created.
This was inevitable.
The old predator/prey system.
The predator gets faster, the prey does as well.........
This conflict is usefully helping to expose shortcomings that would have happened anyway in a real war with Russia, so it’s good that they’re discovered NOW, so a work-around can be invented
As always, superior US technology will come out on top!
This is as bad as Clinton giving the Chinese our missile guidance technology.
Better to field test them now than when a lot of American lives are at stake. (I know there are CIA and possibly special forces troops at risk on the ground, but no risk of large scale American casualties at this point.)
In every conflict, lessons are learned by both sides and adapting to the changes becomes critical. Russia has been embarrassingly slow to adapt in the first two years of this conflict, but has clearly learned and applied some lessons recently.
This article talks about the use and, in this case failure, of the small diameter bomb, which is GPS guided. The SDB was developed for the war on terror, designed to minimize civilian casualties against a not so sophisticated enemy. i.e. put a bomb down a chimney of a terrorist hide out and not hurt the people living on the other side of the street.
Russia would be considered a more sophisticated adversary. They practice electronic warfare, as do we, and have jammers and spoofers that can mess with GPS guidance.
Whoever from the Biden admin side that thought that lobbing GPS guided bombs would be a good idea was in this case a step behind russian counter measures. So we learned a lesson here. More sophisticated guidance would be the next evolution if this weapon is to be employed in the future against a sophisticated adversary.
It's a great way to get public support for the military, .... and it's associated industries.
Perhaps Ukraine is also a proving ground of sorts for our weapons in actual combat use and adjustments can be made or designs improved/replaced by virtue of the data we get?
Ukraines pre war GDP was on the order of 75 billion dollars and we are providing a substantial fraction of that GDP amount in direct monetary support to pay military, government, pensions and social welfare payments to the Ukraine population
Ukraine is totally dependent upon US funding to float its economy on a day to day basis
Pull that funding and Ukraine loses half its GDP and has nothing to replace it with. The country will collapse into economic chaos virtually overnight
The Ukraine can't survive without US cash and we can't afford to keep funding Ukraine and floating it's economy
This will not end well
I think even Johnson, in his twisted, sociopathic way, believed in an "American interest".
