If Trump doesn’t have immunity then NO politician has immunity so SUE them for the disaster they’ve created

If the SC rules that while holding the office of President , Trump didn’t have immunity from prosecution (and possibly imprisonment) for actions that were “politically motivated”, then they will put Biden in serious trouble!

Oh come on! We all know the same rules would not apply to a Democrat.

While I realize that all the charges against Trump are not really based on the actual law, I find it very odd that these questions regarding immunity seem to ignore that ensuring an election has been fair and free from fraud is clearly an official act.

It also shows where the mind of the left is when they equate holding public office to being a personal benefit. That would apply to every person who seeks office, thus making running for office itself an illegal act.

he Dreeben speaks to justices like they are students in Con Law 101 which is not a winning approach and a time-waster.

Your take on Barrett as sotomayor is clearly leading him and using her interpretation to be supportive of criminal

I’m not impressed at all with Dreeben’s arguments, too open ended, way too much latitude to prosecute a President. Open to political prosecutions

Jackson sounds desperate and nervous if Trump is elected president again.

Seems to me, that the left is attempting to establish a wider avenue through which, the left can find a judge to review the intent of almost any steps made by the President.

And thereby, the left would practically exercise executive authority via

Government by Judiciary

A big problem.

Jackson sounds like a left-wing campus commissar whose ambition is prosecutor.

Unsure how this turns out. Will read transcript.

Here’s the thing. A President can be impeached for just about ANYTHING he does while in office that rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors. ANYTHING.

And he acts he performed / committed PREVIOUSLY. As in a first term.

There’s no prohibition that I am aware of to stop that.

It’s like the pardon power. Impeachment has very few requirements.

Mr. Dreeben (for The Swamp) believes that, with the exception of a narrow list of Constitutionally authorized activities, ALL OTHER ACTIONS BY THE PRESIDENT are subject to judicial examination for criminal intent.

Justice Alito just made a very good case for how upholding the appellate court decision could lead to presidents refusing to leave office or being imprisoned by their successor if they do.

It’s not sounding good for Trump’s immunity claim.

I cannot imagine this being worse than 6-3. there’s no way the ‘conservatives’ on the court vote to allow immunity to not exist.
