Shadow speaker: Hakeem Jeffries quietly wrests control from Mike Johnson
MSN ^ | 4/21/24 | Andrew Solender

Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) found himself in an unusual position for a minority leader last week:

It was he, not the House speaker, who had the ultimate power to decide whether legislation came to the floor.

Why it matters: Democrats got everything they wanted – a $95 billion foreign aid bill, the credit for passing it, and adversaries more divided than ever. In their telling, that total victory wasn't a sure thing.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), a master legislative tactician, heaped praise on her successor: "He is fabulous. We're so proud of him."

One senior House Democrat told Axios: "It easily could have fallen apart ... He played the cards the way you'd want to play them."

"I would not want to play blackjack against him," the lawmaker added.

It doesn’t matter who the speaker is. Their destination remains unchanged…..no transparency, zero accountability.

Jeffries will be Speaker in January, with quite a substantial majority if my numbers are right. Why not now?

I have been saying D+35 for two months (I said D+40 in 2018), but on current performance, the GOP may be facing a full-scale collapse like the Progressive Conservatives in Canada in the 1990s, or like the UK Conservative party is facing right now.

I don’t know what the House GOP floor is. 50? 35?

We need a new political movement that can contend nationally.

There are only two people in the world today who can successfully stand up against the deep state. In both cases, it is because they are billionaires, they don’t care what the PTB think of them, and they are willing to be in constant battle against the deep state, whether it fights legally or illegally. They are Trump and Musk, of course. It is almost as if they are the two prophets who speak in the middle of the tribulation—I’m not saying they are, but the setup is similar.

It’s funny watching the trash take a victory lap.

Doubt that Lil’ Mikey saw that coming.

He probably thought they would be real polite and thankful ‘n all.

Nope. Soon’s the vote got over, the masks came off...and they shoved it in his face: LOSER. Smirking, laughing, high fivin’...it finally dawned on Lil’ Mikey that they didn’t really like him, they weren’t really his friends.

And then when he turned to the people who he KNEW were his real friends...he found out he had none. They sneered at him too: noboby likes a traitor.

Sux to be Mikey.

Rupert Moloch into two things Money and Sex.

Roger Ailes helped carry out the agenda with the:

“Fox Lust Channel”

followed by the:

“Fox Greed Channel”.

My come to G-d moment was seeing Gretchen Carlson in some tight dress I said it’s time to get away from this.

Beyond that Fox is a cheerleader for the GOP Establishment MAGA is something they have to accept even though they disdain it if it differs from their narrative.

It does look that way but if they truly had the majority, they could do a lot more damage. they could enact amnesty, ban guns, codify abortion, the list goes on. As bad a Johnson appears, I don’t think he’d bring those things to the floor but I could be wrong.

The bottom line: Johnson “should just pack up and resign and hand the gavel over to Leader Jeffries,” said Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas), a leading Progressive Caucus member.

Sounds about right.

“Only in liberal circles can Pelosi be called a master legislative tactician, in conservative circles she’s called an extortionist.”

I hate the commie b!tch.

But it is inarguable she was the most effective Speaker in a century.

“The RNC is now a Trump organization and we should start to see support for primaries of RINOs. “

The problem here is that Trump publicly and wholeheartedly supported Johnson and his cabal of anti American idiots.

All while the Zeepers cheer on Johnson's selling out Americans and ceding control of the House to Democrat.

The Republican establishment is every bit as much the enemy as the Democrats are.

Trump may win, but like you I see the congressional Republicans getting destroyed in November. They have done absolutely nothing to stop BiteMe and have helped his Marxist agenda substantially.

Enough of the Republican base has had it with the never ending betrayals by the GOP establishment and best guess 5-15% of that base will say to the GOPE got to hell come November and not vote down ticket. Even at a 5% loss in it’s base, that will destroy the congressional Republicans chances in November. Those lying, backstabbing bastards have betrayed conservatives time and time again since 1989 and are utterly clueless to their lack of character and to the fact they are hated now by their own voters as much as they hate the Democrats.

When they lose the GOP establishment has no one to blame but themselves.

Lara Trump and the other person in charge of the RNC need to stop funding campaigns for these warmongers. It’s that simple. Primary them and let’s get the GOP back to the base instead of the DC lobbyists, MIC donors, and foreign countries.

Mitt Romney is the main person I associate with everything that is wrong with our party. A selfish, vindictive man willing to stab his own constituents in the back to further enrich himself and his family/friends.

Wrestles? Suggest a bout with matched opponents going the rounds to decidee the winner. In this case, one of the “contestants” threw the match for the other side.
