Marjorie Taylor Greene calls on Johnson to resign after foreign aid bills pass: ‘If he doesn’t do so, he will be vacated’

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Sunday said House Speaker Mike Johnson “betrayed” Republican voters after the House approved new aid to Ukraine, threatening to call a vote for his ouster if he doesn’t resign.

“Mike Johnson’s speakership is over. He needs to do the right thing to resign and allow us to move forward in a controlled process. If he doesn’t do so, he will be vacated,” Greene said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

After months of resisting putting a foreign aid bill on the House floor, Johnson joined with Democrats on Saturday to advance a $95 billion foreign aid package, which contains $61 billion for Ukraine and regional partners. The legislation – which passed with the support of 210 Democrats and 101 Republicans – now heads to the Senate, which is expected to give final approval this week.

Should Greene and her supporters make good on their threat to force a vote on ousting him as speaker, Johnson will almost certainly need to rely on Democrats to bail him out.

The Georgia hardliner is one of at least three Republicans who have said they will support a move to oust Johnson — whose majority is so slim he cannot afford to lose any Republicans on a party-line vote.

I agree with your point but that will likely happen anyway. There are enough anti-Trump RINOs that will happily vote with Dems to keep Trump out.

If Johnson cannot get every single Republican, and yes I mean ALL of them, to agree that closing the border immediately is the most important issue of our time

But the GOP is the most influential and important open borders force in the country.

I don't mean the FR Imaginary Republican Party - I mean the real, actually existing one.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’d problem is that she hates family values. And to such a degree that she is starting to look like antichrist.

Her NAY vote against the abduction of children shows her absolute Evil. It’s beyond dumb at this point.

Her moral decline is probably inspired by Mao’s Little Red Book.

Why is she still in America?

Nine congressional Republicans voted against a resolution condemning the abduction of Ukrainian children by Russian forces. The measure overwhelmingly passed the House on Tuesday 390-9.

Not right after an election. And if we do our jobs there will be enough MAGA reps to elect a strong speaker. That is what is needed…..strength. Committee assignments should be based on behavior. Carrot and stick. Proper and intelligent use of power. Fearlessness.

Trump is going to need decent partners in the house and senate.

“Do you want to see Greene and a very few other Republicans work with the Democrats to oust Johnson?”

Absolutely.

There must be a penalty for betrayal.

I agree it’s a bit harsh because I do agree with her on many issues. Just not Johnson or Ukraine.

I don't agree with MTG on Ukraine. I think we should stand up to Ukraine. Otherwise, MTG is solid. Mike Johnson is wrong to sneak in the TikTok ban. And that's the Trojan Horse.

All the promise of Mike Johnson’s speakership crumbled to dust over the weekend, as Johnson gave Democrats everything they wanted on Ukraine, FISA, and more without a single concession on the border. Charlie Kirk tries to pick up the pieces and ask: Do Democrats already run the House again? Rep. Thomas Massie weighs in, and Sen. Mike Lee explains a possible Hail Mary to save the day in the Senate.

Johnson is damaged goods, period.

National security is always THE most important issue, especially now—with tens of thousands of Chinese Communists, and hundreds of Iranians, Afghanis, drugs, drug dealers, rapists, criminals, etc., and other illegals crossing our borders daily.

Johnson’s efforts have spoken loudly and clearly that he (and many other Republicans) do NOT consider national security their highest responsibility and number one priority.

Unbelievable.

Hrmm... Guys, I think it’s time to bring some honesty to the room.

You all know what happened at Mar-a-lago the 12th of April... Right?
Trump gave Mike the go-ahead concerning Ukraine. Let’s not pretend this never happened. Trump signaled his renewed pro-Ukraine stance officially on Truth Social.

Thus, when some here on FR criticize Mike Johnson for his Ukraine policy, you are indirectly criticizing Donald Trump. Please support Trump, now it’s not the time to play games. Mike only did what Trump let him do.

Some on FR are criticizing any help to Ukraine (and Israel and Taiwan).
By doing so they are unwittingly supporting Obama’s anti-Ukraine policies. Obama REFUSED to send any kind of weapons to Ukraine. He only sent pillows and blankets! Remember? What a cruel insult towards the Ukrainian people.

When Trump became president, he reversed Obama’s horrible foreign polices. He soon started to ship large quantitities of high-tech US weaponry to Ukraine, pushed NATO to become Great Again, and transferred the US embassy to Jerusalem. He then leveled to the ground a Russian air-base in Syria with 60 Tomahawk missiles. He ordered the massacre of 300 Russian troops in Syria as well. He assassinated scores of Islamic terrorist leaders in Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, you name it. He put harsh sanctions on Russia, and even expelled 60 Russian diplomats from America. Trumps foreign policy was extremely hawkish against Russia, while being pro Ukraine and pro Israel. It made America respected again.

Trump is a human being, with a Christian heart. Thats’s why HE was the one who initiated the whole process of arming Ukraine.

As Christians Trump and Mike are efficiently opposing the anti-Christian behavior of the Iran-Hamas-Russia-North Korea-China Alliance and their bloody attacks and abundant rape-crimes against our Israeli and Ukrainian allies.
