Lindsey Graham: Ukraine Aid ‘Would Not Have Passed Without Donald Trump’
Breitbart ^ | April 21, 2024 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/21/2024 2:57:53 PM PDT by Macho MAGA Man

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said on this week’s broadcast on “Fox News Sunday” that Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) aid package that included for Ukraine would not have passed the House without help from former President Donald Trump.

Graham said, “The Ukrainian military, with our help, has killed about 50% of the combat power of the Russians. This is the year of more. They’re going to have more weapons, but we also want them to have new weapons, ATACMS to knock the bride down between Crimea and Russia. They are going to have F-16s. So, this idea give up on Ukraine makes the world safer, if you pull the plug on Ukraine cause you don’t have enough capability. There goes Taiwan.”

He continued, “Ukrainians are fighting like tigers This aid package has a loan component it. This would not have passed without Donald Trump. I want to thank the House speaker and Hakeem Jeffries woking together in a bipartisan fashion to give weapons to Ukraine to fight a fight that matters to us. President Trump has created a loan component to this package that gives us leverage down the road.”

“”””Still, it never occurs to anybody that both Johnson and Trump are being lied to by the derpstate. Well - I figure Johnson may have a pedo problem and is completely compromised - but there’s no way Trump is being fed anything factual by the derps.””””

If only they had the age, careers and life experience that you have the President of the United States and the Speaker of the House could know what you know.

“”the House speaker and Hakeem Jeffries woking together “”

Probably truer than intended....no proof reading at Breitbart?

[I believe that Britain paid us back.
The Soviets never did.

The focus and infighting on the Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan aid bill is a distraction, keeping the unwashed masses attention focused on something other than the border invasion, which is costing the taxpayers orders of magnitude more.

Like $1,000,000,000,000+ a year.]

The UK technically paid back 10% of the cost of the items it chose to keep. The returned, damaged and destroyed items were never charged to them. The Russians welshed big time.

Ukraine isn’t a distraction. It’s a background issue that might lose Trump the election if he opposes it too vociferously. Bill Shipley, a lawyer who has worked for many indicted Jan 6 protestors summarizes it this way:

https://twitter.com/shipwreckedcrew/status/17810916507162173
[Some unpleasant FACTS about Congress that Maga-world needs to accept.
Ukraine aid is VERY POPULAR in swing districts — those districts that were won by Biden but currently have GOP Reps.

Ukraine aid is much less popular in safe GOP districts — places where Reps like Gaetz, MTG, etc., represent.

Opposing Ukraine aids will guarantee electoral success in safe GOP seats — wait, we have those already.

It will lead to electoral losses in battleground seats.

I prefer a GOP majority in the House as compared to a GOP minority.

The larger the majority the better because it allows them to pursue policies preferred by GOP voters. without having to compromise. They can even freeze out the 10-12 knuckleheads who are always looking for leverage to be an “Army of One.”

I fear a Democrat majority because they have shown themselves willing to pass laws that will cripple the country in ways that will likely be irreversible — which is their goal because they think those changes will be good and the more permanent they can make them the better.

THIS IS THE GAME OF POLITICS.

Learn the rules or prepare yourself to be screwed.]

People are concerned about the border. That’s why even people who hate Trump’s guts are thinking about voting for him. But for a significant segment of GOP voters, Ukraine aid is non-negotiable. He needs to thread the needle - balancing pro-Russian and pro-Ukraine GOP voter concerns while getting both to show up on election day.

There is absolutely no doubt Trump aided and abetted the Republicans and Democrats in Congress that passed the Ukraine bill.

No doubt.

Watch it, then tell us how many explanations there can be for flipping so passionately and totally.

I have to admit that was my first thought too... compromised somehow.
But have you heard Tucker on the Joe Rogan show??
After hearing that, which was something I had never considered, I think he is probably right... a lot of them are probably controlled by the mere threat of child porn being found (planted) on their computer...
I have been trying to figure out what the hell was going on in that respect since long before Trump ran. We elect good people and they go to Washington and are instantly corrupted (or at least somehow controlled).

They helped protect their own supply lines which, coincidentally kept them from starvation and military defeat. Every country likes to glamorize its role in the war. You never hear the Russians talk about being one of the original Axis Powers until Hitler attacked Russia.

The self-image of a selfless Britain that stood alone in a crusade for freedom is nonsense on stilts. The Brits handed Czechoslovakia to Germany, then stood by as Germany and Russia conquered Poland. And these were countries only hundreds of miles away. If Germany had invaded Honduras, you can bet the US wouldn’t have waited until they attacked Mexico to jump in. They needed bailing out because, like today’s Europe and some pro-Russian Americans today, they were sleepwalking through history.

Unlike the Russians, they weren’t among the villains of WW2. But their depiction of themselves as these selfless participants is way over the top. They fought because the wolf was at the door and energetically clawing at it - they had no choice.

If the French did their job in 1936, and stopped the Germans from remilitarizing The Rhineland, maybe it wouldn't have been up to the Brits to stop Hitler.

I agree that it's an issue, but, it's put the illegal invasion, which is far more consequential and costly on the back burner.

Out of sight, out of mind.

I can tell you from personal experience what is happening here:

1. Trump is NOT in favor of this stupid Ukrainian/MIC welfare bill.

2. He can’t publicly oppose it because some of the biggest beneficiaries are large defense contractors in key swing states. First and foremost among these is the General Dynamics plant in Scranton, PA that is one of the only facilities that produces 155-mm artillery shells.

“You never hear the Russians talk about being one of the original Axis Powers until Hitler attacked.”

Remember the “Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact” or officially the Treaty of Non-Aggression between Germany and the USS.
This was the non-aggression pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union with secret protocol that partitioned Central and Eastern Europe between them.

Then, when Nazi Germany invaded much of western and central Europe and without warning attacked the USSR during Operation Barbarossa the ‘Nonaggression Pact’ ended on June 22, 1941.

BTW, the USSR denied the existence of the secret protocols until 1989 because the protocals were evidence of its involuntary annexation of the Baltic states. Then in 1991, the changes within the Soviet Union made it impossible for Soviet leaders to stop declarations of independence from the Baltic states..

Trump did not jump in there to support that minority within the House, and they went down.

Also, Donald Trump made “positive” statements about Ukraine on social media posts and did not support the Republican minority working to prevent the $61bn deal for Ukraine aid from passing.

Every politician compromises on something to build coalitions, just how much and what is the concern.

On this one I can see Trump leaning toward having a strong hand to negotiate with the Russians and this would help with that. On the other hand if Biden was able to cheat his way in again this would just prolong the war at our expense.
