When they had the convention in LA the DNC set up a “protest corridor” several blocks away, literally in cages or at least behind fences to keep the people contained and out of sight. Ultimately the courts ruled that was improper, that the whole point of 1A protesting was so that the people in power can see and hear it.
I would not be surprised if they tried something similar in 2024. Maybe under the guise of security protocols, terror threats, etc. Already two people have self immolated this year in protests. TPTB will come up with some rationale to keep protestor at bay.
