I'll have to admit that as a teenage hobby programmer in the 1980's I practically worshipped the ground at MIT. So when their egg heads came out repeatedly saying that missile interception couldn't be done, for a while I believed them. One of the things that made me quit listening to MIT was the success of the Patriot interceptor.
I know the media repeatedly downplayed the success of the early version Patriot during the first Iraq war -- but almost all of those failures were after we started trying to use the Patriot for things beyond what it was designed for. For example, in the first month of the war, 48 scud missiles were fired at American bases with the Patriot, and only 1 scud hit target. A Patriot success rate of 94%. After that the military wanted to test the Patriot's boundaries, that's where the lack of success was at.
That's when I realized that MIT was not as smart as they make out to be. That they were just an arm of the Dims masquerading as smart.
