I agree with you on this. Every time there is a big question on policy that Biden wants to get done and he is stalled by Congress, something else big happens or is predicted to happen if the policy isn’t enacted. Then this dire news is splashed across the news. Or they redirect our attention elsewhere so we don’t see what they are really up to.

Some issues seem to split Free Republic into opposing camps.
Many Freepers are against aid to Ukraine, based on the idea we should avoid foreign entanglement, and that the conflict there doesn’t affect America.
Other Freepers talk about how Putin is making moves like Hitler did before World War II ,and if we don’t stop Putin then Putin will invade other countries, just as Hitler did and Trigger World War 3.
Similarly some Freepers think we have no business aiding Israel, because they don’t see the conflict in the Middle East as affecting America.
The United States and Israel have a number of treaties and pacts regarding mutual defense, including one specifically related to defense against missile attacks. All are authorized by law and/or ratified by the Senate.
Sending in ships to defend Israel against missile attack is in fulfillment of those obligations and does not violate the Constitution.
Since you asked....
We are under high alert ..... I believe the term used was... “heightened threat environment” re: middle east terrorists’ desires to do some glass-work in the USA, no doubt.
So no... our presence in the ME is not just for Israel’s defense. It’s also for our defense as a “deterrent”. A deterrent not just against attacks in the ME, but also against any planned attacks on US soil.
The fact and reality is that ME terrorists have been waltzing across our southern border for the past four years. They already have many cells embedded here in the US. They know if they hit us here, we’ll hit them there. Well... supposedly. But with OBiden at the helm, who really knows what will happen (See: Afghanistan “withdrawal”). OBiden might figure a way to reward them with more billions in cash.
But I can’t help thinking that we may still have some patriots in the US military that might force Biden’s hand if , or rather when, we get attacked. He will have to retaliate or be exposed as what he has been all along. At least, that’s my current and ongoing dream.

It’s not strange at all, considering that Iran has been wet-dreaming about wiping Israel off of the face of the planet for ....ever.
And nobody wants the Palestinians. Some say that they’re the dregs of humanity, but I think that’s an insult to dregs everywhere. It’s more likely that they come by their unlikable characteristics naturally. It’s in their “DNA”.
