Nancy Pelosi Marks César Chávez Day on Easter Sunday

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) marked César Chávez Day on Easter Sunday, though California state government offices will only observe the holiday on Monday, April 1.

Pelosi issued a tweet honoring the late farmworker union organizer and civil rights leader on Sunday, shortly after posting a message of Easter greetings to Christians nationwide.

Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 in Yuma, Arizona. He built his legacy in California, where his family were migrant farm workers, and where he became a labor organizer. His birthday is an annual state public holiday, though it is typically observed on Monday, April 1, when his birthday falls on a Sunday.

There is a PBS broadcast interviewing Chavez. Chavez calls the illegals coming across the border wetbacks.

Re: Pelousy ‘starting early.’ If you just keep drinking night and day, you might avoided the hangover for a while.

Chavez was strongly against illegal immigration, for what it does to low-wage workers

I met and even got to know Cesar Chavez a little bit. Was actually impressed by the guy. Unlike Jesse Jackson, he actually cared about his people and was committed to making their lives better.

Didn't agree with many of his methods but his heart was in the right place and he was not a shameless race grifter and self promoter like Jesse Jackson, who was (and is ) a world class scum bag and fraudster.

In retrospect, must confess that in some areas where we disagreed Chavez was right and I was wrong

Wasn’t Chavez against illegal migration, because he knew it would put downward pressure on wages?

What a joke. Her winery made her the fourth richest Californian in 2015, but she won't even allow her employees at that winery to form a union. I remember Rush Limbaugh talking about this years ago. Same thing with the Clintons when they were closely associated with Sam Walmart. The Clintons took Union cash, but were against allowing a union at Walmart. In 1986, Sam Walmart appointed her to Walmart's Board of Directors. She got $18,000 a year, and another $1500 for every meeting she attended. "By 1993 she had accumulated at least $100,000 in WalMart stock." RATS are such hypocrites.

TRUST ME-——SHE NEVER SLOWS DOWN OR STOPS.

WATCHED SUCH BEHAVIOR THE FIRST 24 YEARS OF MY LIFE-—

60 YEARS LATER-—CAN STILL RECOGNIZE THE SYMPTOMS.

That is interesting. I always thought his humble act was just that.

UFW is now nearly meaningless, and most farms vote down the union when they try to organize. The workers have figured out that UFW just screws the place up, causes trouble and the farm either closes down or lays them all off. In the Pajaro Valley, the big packers are moving inland for lower costs. Will probably all be condos in 20 years.

That was a big part of it but he was also very much an America First type of guy on general principles.

He just really disliked what he saw as rich farmers exploiting poor and powerless farm laborers.

What a dilemma (or is it a trilemma?) Transgender Visibility Day, Cesar Chavez Day or Easter Sunday—all falling on March 31. Which to proclaim? Which to celebrate? How to rank them in importance?

Which to proclaim?........... All of them.
Which to celebrate?.......... Whichever one you want.
How to rank them in importance?.... DON’T

The DemocRATS are making a point of sticking their thumbs into the eye of every Christian this year.

I would guess that they expect that they are running out of time and options and this is the last Easter that they can do this.
