Fire Department brass ordered an East Village ladder company to remove its “red line” American flag honoring the squad’s six brothers killed on 9/11 – after a neighborhood resident complained it was “fascist” and a local lefty pol questioned whether it was a “politically charged symbol.”
The shocking order came March 22 after a man claiming he was a staffer for Democratic Manhattan Councilwoman Carlina Rivera confronted firefighters at Ladder Co. 11, sources said.
The man pedaled up to the East 2nd Street firehouse on a bicycle and told firefighters he worked for Rivera and that the councilwoman’s office “complained” to the FDNY three days earlier about the flag – which features a red stripe in tribute of firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty.
He called it a “fascist symbol” and demanded to know why it was still up, sources said.

Funny how no one read the entire article. For lines like this:
“Hours later, now-Commissioner Kavanagh and Chief of Department John Hodgens reversed the decision and allowed the flag back on the truck.”
And other things. The entire cast here at FR get a Zero for reading comprehension because they did not read the article. As for me I already heard days ago that the decision had been reversed so I went looking to see if the article mentioned the fact. The article also indicates that the details about how this happened are not as simple as people believe.

The Fire Sept. should memorize Rivera’s home address so any future need to respond to that location would be long and drawn out....like 6-8 hours.
The firemen should have pulled him off his tricycle and kicked his a$$.
Seeing more and more of this play from the Left:
Step 1) Contest something previously universally accepted but conservative leaning (even if only demographically if not in content)
Step 2) Now that you’ve contested it, declare it “controversial” or “politically charged”
Step 3) Demand its removal based on 2)

Insofar as I can tell, the best way to combat this is to not give an inch, and mock them publicly for trying. Make it too politically damaging to *them* to try this crap.
Really, this ties into the greater Overton Window problem that the Right faces- the Left absolutely PREYS on people who are too meek or polite or non-confrontational to just say “No.” And now we’ve got people declaring themselves to be the opposite sex, gun rights for illegals and not Americans, and even whispers of rights for “Minor Attracted Persons”.
