Sacramento council to consider making Sacramento a transgender sanctuary city

The Sacramento City Council will Tuesday consider making Sacramento a sanctuary city for transgender people. The resolution, proposed by Councilwoman Katie Valenzuela, would bar city staff — including officers and contractors — from detaining people for seeking or providing gender-affirming health care. It would also bar the city from cooperating with out-of-state jurisdictions that are criminalizing gender-affirming care.

At the start of the same meeting, Mayor Darrell Steinberg is set to present a proclamation recognizing Transgender Week of Visibility

Glad the mayor has solved all of the City of Sacramento’s other issues such as the $66 million budget deficit.

Well someone has to virtue signal first. Might as well be in California. What saps. Pretty soon all problems like trans people, pedos and other various and sundry perverts will have found refuge in either Sodom, CA or Gomorrah, NY and the rest of us will be better off. THANKS Sacramento!!

Another sickening example of the “changes” in our civilization. My family lived in Sacramento when I was a kid, from the age of 18 mos. to nearly 7 years of age. Our family of four lived on a cut-de-sac in a classic 50’s/60’s community known as Rosemont. We had, at first, one car, and our elementary school was a block away. Families everywhere. Kids everywhere. Bikes, trikes, and wagons all over the place. Kool-aid and inflatable pools in the summer. Mothers who ‘stayed’ home and raised kids while somehow managing and maintaining their households. Free-ranging kids, all subject corporal ‘correction’ by any of said mothers if needed. There was a huge billboard out on a two-lane Highway 50, with a giant animated rocking horse under which was scripted “For your kids’ sake, move to Rosemont!” It was a wonderful, but ephemeral, period in our history. And now....

True. I have read that the mass shootings that have taken place the last few years have been by transgenders. Look out Sacramento.

Sounds like you were blessed with a good childhood to me. I had a similar experience of family and normalcy. Best parents in the world, no comparisons between neighbor’s income. Next door lived some of the best and most generous people you would ever meet. You can’t buy that kind of childhood. It doesn’t exist anymore.

You’re right about ever bit of that. Esp. about the income thing. We had as neighbors two TV repairmen (both with two kids), a local Judge (Catholic, with six kids...), a gas station owner (three kids), and a Vietnam Widow (with two kids). There was one retired couple down the street, with a black “Scottie” dog who we kids would go visit from time to time. They had a dish of that weird, hard ‘ribbon’ candy on their coffee table, which we would all graciously accept, even though it wasn’t quite our favorite. Everyone was together, and nobody really seemed to care much about keeping up with Joneses, etc. We were all just normal, and really liked each other. People like you and I were genuinely and completely blessed.
