Right. A no-knock (or short knock) raid makes sense when there are hostages in imminent danger of being executed by their captors. Otherwise, just pick the guy up when he goes to work, as you noted. And if he’s staying put, it’s tear gas time. Why put lives at risk, criminal and police?

There’s a problem with SWAT teams. If you’ve got a shiny new hammer, you’ve also the urge to use that shiny new hammer.

If the guy had fired from his house when ATF first pulled up, that would be a different story. Did that happen? We’ll know when more info is released.

Information should have immediately been released. There is no reason for authorities to “get there story straight” if they had a legitimate reason for a swat raid. This delay in releasing information reeks of coverup.

This guy was a white-collar guy and this type of raid seems bizarre.
