This is how wars of attrition work. The Russians are masters of this type of warfare. The deindustrialized West, weakened by allowing outsourcing with malice and intent as a way to destabilize America and punish flyover country, cannot fight this type of war. The American military has spend 30 years feeling tough bombing turd world koranimals and no longer really knows how to effectively fight industrial wars and will take years to be able to do so.

Ukraine is having a tough time because they have almost no offensive capability to really hit Russia. Russia can push them into a solely defensive war. You win wars by fighting offensively.

If these US were actually involved in the war, Russia's attrition abilities wouldn't matter. We can precision strike almost anywhere in Russia, with relative ease. We can eliminate Russian military manufacturing. We can force Russia to spread out forces across all twelve time zones. Ukraine can't do any of that. Not to mention, Russia can't really hit these US. They don't have that offensive capability against these US like they do vs Ukraine.
