Ukraine's air defense may fail by end of March, posing heightened risk

Ukrainian cities are becoming increasingly vulnerable to extensive Russian missile and drone attacks as Kyiv's army might deplete its air defense ammunition by the end of March, according to "The Washington Post".

This concerning situation was shared by Ukrainian officials with their European and American counterparts at a security conference last month, as reported by the American newspaper.

Until now, Ukraine has had the capacity to intercept four out of every five missiles aiming for its cities. However, this rate might soon drop to merely intercepting one out of five, as informed by one of the officials. The potential decline in missile defense effectiveness poses a dire threat to the relative normalcy that many Ukrainian cities have started to experience again, thanks to the previously efficient missile defense systems.

Regrettably, an increase in missile supplies for Ukrainian air defenses is anticipated only after the US Congress sanctions military aid for Kyiv. This process has been stalled for weeks due to political stalemates in Washington. While the Senate has passed the necessary bill, it is currently held up in the House of Representatives by Republican opposition.

The American military has spend 30 years feeling tough bombing turd world koranimals and no longer really knows how to effectively fight industrial wars and will take years to be able to do so.

Ukraine is having a tough time because they have almost no offensive capability to really hit Russia. Russia can push them into a solely defensive war. You win wars by fighting offensively.

If these US were actually involved in the war, Russia's attrition abilities wouldn't matter. We can precision strike almost anywhere in Russia, with relative ease. We can eliminate Russian military manufacturing. We can force Russia to spread out forces across all twelve time zones. Ukraine can't do any of that. Not to mention, Russia can't really hit these US. They don't have that offensive capability against these US like they do vs Ukraine.

The same is true for the Russians. If we take the war into Russia then the war is coming to us. That is probably what you want. You think that it would be fun.

...isn't it interesting that MSN reprints a Polish source which says "according to 'The Washington Post'?"

Yep, that's one of the reasons I chose this fairly obscure site to source, Washington Post negatively titled articles will make Zeeper heads explode, Russian Disinformation, it can't be the Post!

Didn’t the Clinton administration promise Ukraine that in return for giving up their nuclear weapons, that the USA would guarantee they would be supplied with the means to protect themselves?

We lie to everyone. No nation should trust the US — we are the worst ally imaginable.

What is true for the Russians? Half my post was that they don't have any offensive capability to hit us. They have a few new subs, but that's it. And I guarantee we know where they are and have something following every single one.

Russia has no functional carriers. They have no logistical capacity to move an invasion force to these US, much less support a campaign overseas.

They're half beating Ukraine because they can concentrate all their forces in a small area. They don't have enough equipment or manpower to defend all their borders. Even if all their gear was in good order!
