Breitbart ^ | 03/16/2024 | Ian hatchett

Posted on 03/16/2024 5:19:50 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

During an interview with CBS’s “The Takeout” podcast that took place before the release of the February inflation numbers, acting Labor Secretary Julie Su said that there is price gouging and “One reason for inflation is that companies are taking advantage of market forces or just charging more in a way that increases their profit, but has nothing to do with worker’s wages.”

The government creates inflation. No one else can.

Knowing nothing about the job of government is a sure way to succeed in American government.

Inflation or gouging — it’s not as if both can’t be happening at once. The Government prints money, causing inflation, and greedy corporations pile on with gouging hiding under the cover of that inflation.

Lose-lose.

Competition fixes profits being greater than those the public will support. Some guy always can make it cheaper and faster than you can. Someone in the room is always smarter than you are.

Well said. The government gives us inflation and then blames everyone else.

There is no winning in this idiotic game of musical chairs.

Also, “gouging” can be a meaningless charge. Do you expect the inflationary price to remain the same when volumes have disappeared and costs of things like energy are subject to fantasies of policy?

Heck, the inflation could be the COVER for other jackass policy blunders.

She is a lawyer who has never worked a real job in her life, nothing but stream of “social justice” jobs before landing in make-work government jobs. She’s never had to produce a product in a competitive world at a price consumers would pay. She’s never had P&L responsibility. She’s never run a business. She’s never had to make pricing decisions or developed go-to-market plans. She’s probably never run a lemonade stand.

Yet like all government commie-weenies, she knows exactly how products should be priced and what is “gouging.”

People like this make me SICK.

We have the governmental response to inflation the government itself caused being driven by the rantings of a mindless puppet. Also, Cookie Monster didn't like inflation either.

As George Gammon put it: “The cure for high prices is high prices.”

In a market economy, shifts can happen very quickly. Price “gouging” is a transitory phenomenon that helps the market immediately re-establish a correct understanding of supply and demand. Forbid it and dysfunction can continue for years.

The Acting Labor Secretary - being a Communist - is not capable of understanding a free market, but she is an expert at blaming it for the sins of her superiors.

If such “gouging” exists, then buy the stocks of those companies making all these obscene, unfair profits

You know, that's not a bad idea.

Government demanded a minimum wage of $15 an hour-—for the slowest & most inept person on the local work force.

That cost is ALWAYS passed onto the end consumer.

Also TAXES & OTHER “FEES”

The people who could NEVER pass the simplest ECON classes are making up the rules-—and then BELLOWING when it becomes reality.

Who was it that said: “ If you put the US Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert-—in 2 years there would be no more sand???”

The solution is simple: Elect Trump. Corporations were not greedy when Trump was President, as proven by the very modest inflation numbers.
