AOC district neighborhood labeled 'Third World' as migrants clog streets and prostitutes overrun every block
Fox News via Yahoo ^ | March 16, 2024 | Michael Dorgan

An area in Squad member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district is being described as looking more like a Third World country as opposed to a thriving American neighborhood, as desperate migrants block up sidewalks selling food and shilling clothing items while prostitutes openly solicit sex from passersby — reportedly including teens.

The neighborhoods of Corona, Jackson Heights and Elmhurst — a once-vibrant community in northwestern Queens — has now essentially deteriorated into a large flea market with trash overflowing on street corners, leading to unsavory and unhygienic conditions, as video obtained by Fox News Digital shows.

Meanwhile, the neighborhood’s main strip along Roosevelt Avenue has become so renowned for its prostitution that locals have nicknamed the area "the market of sweethearts," and viral online videos advise prospective johns on how to make use of sex workers' services there.

In exclusive Fox News Digital photos, sex workers were seen on Wednesday standing outside storefronts soliciting men. Residents say the prostitutes usually take their clients into makeshift brothels for sex. These alleged sex workers operate during all hours of the day, even as families walk by with their children in strollers, and often hang out in front of area supermarkets. Prostitution is against the law in New York.

In video obtained by Fox News Digital, one local resident, Ramses Frías, takes a short walk along two streets in the neighborhood, shedding light on the conditions there.

If you look at the current and recent district maps in that area, the borders between the two neighboring districts didn't change much -- if at all.

Most of AOC's district is in the Bronx -- across the "high-toll bridges" you mentioned. And much of the area in the Queens part of her district is occupied by LaGuardia Airport, Flushing Meadows, Citi Field, and the U.S. Tennis Center.

This moron was actually opposed to a flood of new high-paying jobs in that area ... allegedly because it would drive up housing costs for the people who already live there.

Just think of how dysfunctional (but so "New York City") that mindset is: "Don't improve this sh!t-hole ... because my constituents won't be able to live here anymore!"

No wonder dead people vote so often in Dem districts. Hard to tell the difference. Wouldn’t want to be zombo-phobic.

Yeah, she was afraid that the new constituents would vote her out?

She only won because her district was redistricted away from Joe Crowley, a 20-year Congressman who took the race for granted when his voter base had been changed away from the affluent east side of Manhattan.

"What do her constituents think?"

The Dominion programmers and ChiCom mail-in ballot printers are very happy.

The tons of merchandise probably comes from looted freight trains.

She wasn't opposed to anything on merit. She jumped on an anti-Amazon bandwagon that was already far along its journy due to the political dealings of two local state legislators.

She only won because her district was redistricted away from Joe Crowley, a 20-year Congressman who took the race for granted when his voter base had been changed away from the affluent east side of Manhattan.

I don't think you have those facts right. The district was unchanged between 2012 (when it was set up after the 2010 census) and 2018 when she ran. She won because Joe Crowley was an old white guy in a mostly swarthy district who had lost touch with the constituents while he filled a national Democratic role in the House of Representatives.

Where do they get all that junk?

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if some thugs started stealing it?

Well, AOC is a whore, so it makes sense even illegal alien whores need representation, too.

I won't continue this kabuki dance with you any more than to repost the link to our last discussion. You have never refuted my facts, you only keep repeating your own statements.

I don't think you have those facts right. The district was unchanged between 2012 (when it was set up after the 2010 census) and 2018 when she ran.

I think we're talking about mostly the 2016 and 2018 elections, since New York took three years to approve its redistricting map after the 2010 census. The 2014 election was probably a gimme for Crowley, getting 74.7% with an extremely low 67,372 turnout (probably due to the late approval of the district maps). He then won the 2016 election with 74.8% of the vote.

You may be correct about why he lost in 2018, or it may be that he just became complacent in a mid-term election year. AOC got 78% of the vote just two years after Crowley got 74.8% of the vote. In the 2016 election, 197,301 votes were cast. In the 2018 election, only 128,339 votes were cast, a reduction of 35% turnout. In 2020, the vote count was 213,323, so a LOT of people sat out the 2018 election that Crowley lost.

Other related information...

From Wikipedia:

Joseph Crowley (born March 16, 1962) is a former American politician and consultant who served as U.S. Representative from New York's 14th congressional district from 1999 to 2019. He was defeated by Democratic primary challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in what was viewed as one of the biggest upsets of the 2018 midterm elections.

From Wikipedia, New York's 14th congressional district:

In 1992 it became the East Side of Manhattan district, which for most of its existence had been the 17th district. In 2012, the district shifted to the former territory of the 7th district in Queens and the Bronx. From 2003 to 2013, the district encompassed much of what is now New York's 12th congressional district, including Central Park and the East Side of Manhattan; all of Roosevelt Island; and the neighborhoods of Astoria, Long Island City, and Sunnyside in Queens.

Sooo, the thugs will go into any store and steal whatever, but they won’t touch this stuff outside on the sidewalk? HUH? Either it’s junk that has no value to their fences, or there’s something else going on here.

Against the law? New York's a corrupt democrat hellhole - the way they keep 'crime rates down' - by not sending cops in to arrest anyone.

I was putting a new roof on a building next to a shopping plaza. In the parking lot of this plaza were two yellow metal box’s where you could donate clothing for Haiti. I observed a yellow box truck with the same logo as the metal boxes. Two guys get out and start emptying the box’s on the ground into to piles. Then a U haul truck shows up and they load one of the piles into it. The other pile goes into the company truck!

So true.

Take a walk through her district and engage her constituents in a discussion about any subject under the sun. Not just politics. Sports, movies, books, crime, economics, education, geography, food, the weather, etc. You’ll find that for the most part they’re just as clueless and ignorant as she is.
