Sounds like Fanni is in a Catch 22 moment.

If she paid for Wade’s invoices out of the Trust Fund (forfeiture), she is screwed for an illegal disbursement. If she used general fund money, the county is going to go after her for not getting authorization for the expense.

Seems like violating county policy is the lesser of two evils here and she’s playing CYA.

Ashleigh Merchant testified to the Georgia Senate committee that Willis presented a budget request for money to hire lawyers to work on a backlog of cases and was granted the extra budget money.

Willis then used that money to hire Wade to run the Trump RICO case saying that the county requirement to use the money as appropriated didn't apply to her because she was in a "constitutional office."
