Earl Spencer, the younger brother of Diana, Princess of Wales, said he was sexually abused as a child at boarding school.
In an extract from his memoir, published in the Mail on Sunday, Earl Spencer said he was targeted by a female member of staff at Maidwell Hall, Northamptonshire in the 1970s.
Now 59, he alleges the abuse began when he was just 11 years old.
Maidwell Hall said it was "sobering" to learn of Earl Spencer's experiences.
The school said allegations of sexual abuse had been referred to a "local authority designated officer".
Earl Spencer attended Maidwell Hall between the ages of eight and 13.
In his new book A Very Private School, he alleges that a female staff member, whom he described as a "voracious paedophile", groomed and abused him and other young boys in their dormitory beds at night.
Earl Spencer said he had established that the employee now either lives abroad or is dead, the Mail reports.
He also alleged the school's then headmaster, John Porch, inflicted "brutal beatings" and he believed the teacher gained "sexual pleasure from the violence". Mr Porch died in January 2022, according to an obituary in his old college newsletter.
Earl Spencer said reliving his time at Maidwell had been an "absolutely hellish experience".

This is hard for me to imagine. I can more understand Males being the abuser but a female with an 11 year old is hard to grasp unless he was being forced to do ..ahem..certain things.
The whole family seems nutty. Diana certainly had problems.
That said, there are a lot of deranged people in positions of power so anything is possible.

This would appear to apply to the beating part because a pedo female teacher messing around with 11 year old boys was not normal back then..at least not that i know of

this cracks me up...even if true. The staying power of an 11 year old is laughable so this was one truly messed up chick. Unless Earl Spencer is deploying the tactics of his nephew when writing his book...as in just make stuff up.

he lost his virginity when he was 12 in italy so I guess he wasnt one of the chosen to have sex with the teacher..or some such thing

Have been reading through the comments on Daily Mail which are interesting
If you have Netflix there is this documentary story which is pretty horrifying. one twin loses his memory and the other twin doesnt tell him the truth about what really happened to try to save him. They were passed around amongst the upper crust.
Have to grant that is the tradition.
so what strikes me after reading the DM article is that there were at least two men who were sexually aroused by the boys but it was only the woman who sexually abused.
Given the stories you read about British boarding schools it is hard to believe the two men never went any further and it was only the woman.
DM comments have some comments about Catholic Schools and the things Nuns do.
