Will Musk bankroll Trump? Billionaire holds meeting with ex-president as he considers whether to throw his $200b fortune behind efforts to remove Biden from White House

A secret meeting between Elon Musk and Donald Trump has sent speculation swirling that the Tesla boss could bankroll the Republican presidential hopeful's campaign.

The two met on Sunday in Palm Beach, Florida, along with a few wealthy Republican donors, according to the New York Times.

Trump and his team are desperately seeking a cash injection to boost his presidential campaign.

Musk is currently the second richest man in the world, with an estimated fortune of $200billion. The Tesla founder has become more political in recent weeks and has been posting on social media platform X blasting Democrat Joe Biden's woke policies and the administration's handling of the border crisis.

Trump has privately praised the tech mogul to his allies and hopes to secure a one-on-one meeting soon, according to a source.

> actually, having Elon counteracting voter fraud rather than financial support would be a good idea...there is a limit to direct donations to trump but Elon is not limited in what he could do to head off voter fraud

it would be neat if elon could find a way around the donation limit, and then agree to a “matching amount” (or fractional matching amount) to any donation to trump.

that would drum up support for trump and reduce dependency by trump on elon. win-win.

It’s rather visionary these days for an American politician to be America first-last-always.

But, you’re a Never guy so such things don’t matter to you.

Yeah that would be my guess and it’s also a good political move. Musk puts up the NY bond and then continues on his rants about turning the USA into a banana republic. He’s been fairly alarmist lately about the immigration issues, and he’s ticked as heck that a judge stripped him of $50 billion of his Tesla options. This lawfare politics is getting out of hand and will only continue to get worse without some stiff resistance and constant pressure on middle of the road people who have been afraid to speak up. Awareness needs to be raised and more public discussions continuing.

And Musk is generally a reasonable person. Obviously brilliant in his own right but also incredibly prolific and knows how to hire great talent - EV cars, rockets that return to earth, brain implants, X/twitter and still has time to tweet. People who aren’t totally unhinged will at least listen when he has something to say.

I’d say Musk and his X/Space X gang could ferret out and perhaps counter in real time the Democrat voter fraud.

Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
When was the last time you read the Communist Manifesto? Free public “education” is the tenth plank of communism.

Musk hates Trump...

Trump didn’t buy into Tesla during his presidency. Game set match.

Full stop.

This is fake news.

And then we’ll no longer hear President Trump bashing electric cars whenever he speaks lol. Good deal for both.

I don’t think this will happen, but that said, it would be hilarious to watch all the liberal Tesla fanbois’ heads exploding if Musk did make a deal with Trump.

GOP voters are actually not that stupid. I contribute directly to candidates I support. It’s the RNC that no one trusts after years of being screwed over by Romney-McDanials and Bitch McConnell.

Musk should bankroll Trump. Bringing to mind the phrases about evil prospering because good men do nothing, and burning in the camps. The Democrats have caused possibly irreversible economic damage to this country, and another four years will pretty much complete the damage. Four more years of Biden or his equivalent would be disastrous for Musk. Even if Trump wins, four years might not be enough to reverse the damage by the left. Musk should spend his money now, or spend the rest of his life in regret that he didn’t join the fight when he had the ability.

I agree, and the way that Musk has been posted and responding on X lately makes he think he is just as scared as the rest of normal America.

I thought it was interesting to see him there with Trump and Steve Bannon. Bannon hasn’t been much of a fan of Elon, but he’ll just have to put that aside for now.

Two very busy men and they dont visit over the phone. Very telling.
Probably met in a secure room no phones allowed too.

“Bannon hasn’t been much of a fan of Elon,”

That’s putting it mildly. He has (had?) pure hatred for Musk, saying he’s total CCP. I pray everyone who’s good is able to work together for the sake of the country. (I’m not saying Musk is good, because I don’t know, but he does good things a lot of the time.)

We rented our books, turned them in in good condition, got the money back. Lost them, ruined them no money back.

Millions of people bash electric cars.

And between you and me...Musk will dump Tesla at some point....he has bigger fish to fry. The Asian market will be the EV providers.
