Under the watchful eye of Rima Nelson, St. Louis VA closed twice due to serious medical safety issues. The facility also ranked dead last in patient satisfaction. Negligent medical practices also resulted in 1,800 veterans being potentially exposed to HIV.

I called the facility to verify her ascension to control at Phoenix. The email went out to workers at the facility yesterday. And below is what veterans and the workers at the facility get to look forward to after stress at the facility chewed up and spit out Deborah Amdur last month.

I can't seem to find any personal data about this woman.

Lawrence Verria and George Galdorisi, authors of The Kissing Sailor, a 2012 book about the identity of the subjects of the photograph that had become so famous, used interviews of claimants, expert photograph analysis, and identification of people in the background, as well as, consultations with forensic anthropologists and facial recognition specialists. PHOENIX — The director of the Veterans Affairs medical center in Phoenix is leaving, according to a document obtained Thursday by 12 News.

RimaAnn Nelson was the director of the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix in the wake of a scandal where it was uncovered that veterans faced long wait times for appointments."

Nelson has accepted the position as the network director of the Veterans Integrated Service Network in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is expected to begin on Oct. 27.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has named a new director to its beleaguered Phoenix VA Medical Center, and the decision instantly came under fire because the appointee left a previous hospital leadership post after it got the lowest satisfaction rating of any facility in the VA system.

RimaAnn Nelson, who most recently headed a tiny VA clinic in the Philippines, is expected to take charge of a Phoenix VA Health Care System that was the epicenter of a national crisis over its treatment of veterans. She is the seventh director during the past three years to enter a revolving leadership door at Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center.

Members of Arizona’s congressional delegation reacted to the announcement with dismay.
