They have the votes in the House, and McConnell could well be the deciding cloture vote in the Senate.

They’d have to get a discharge petition through the House, not likely. I don’t see it getting through the Senate either.

Even if they pass the bill, the bill would need to be constitutional. There is not enough time for that. Trump would need to be convicted in a court of law of insurrection.
