Vice President Kamala Harris clarified remarks she made Sunday apparently demanding an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza, adding that she was simply calling for a proposed six-week truce as part of a deal to release Israeli hostages.
The Times of Israel reported:
“Given the immense scale of suffering in Gaza, there must be an immediate ceasefire,” Harris begins, causing the crowd in Selma to erupt in applause, before she can finish her sentence, when the seemingly thrown off vice president adds: “for at least the next six weeks, which is what currently is on the table,” Harris continues, barely heard over the sustained cheers from ostensibly progressive supporters who have long pushed the administration to call for an immediate ceasefire.
As Breitbart News noted, Harris’s statement was a “head fake,” aimed at President Joe Biden’s wavering left-wing base, rather than a change in policy.

Didn’t Hamas and Israel have a ceasefire in place when Hamas was still firing rockets into Israel and then they did Oct. 7th?
What is the point of a ceasefire with Hamas? Anybody have any ideas how Hamas could be trusted for the 17th million ceasefire that they won’t respect? Anybody have any ideas if Hamas actually has control of any living hostages at this point?
Remove everyone from Gaza, transport them to Iran. The Iranians have been instrumental in starting this war and breaking the peace. The Iranians should take all the GAZA refugees and save them by transporting them to Iran to give them safe harbor and shelter. There they will be far away from Jewish people, near fellow Muslims, and they can thrive. The land should be removed from the existing landowners as war reparations with Israeli Government controlling it. Then GAZA should NOT be settled, it should be bulldozed and turned into military bases and national parks.
Let the People of the West Bank have a ‘Palestinian’ nation, with the understanding that if they attack Israel they will receive EXACTLY the above treatment. That’s the only way, short of Genocide, to end this conflict at this point.
Let’s send her, JB, and Blinken over there. Have them go find the AMERICANS that are still held hostage! Have then go talk to the survivors of Oct 7 to see if they still think about stopping IDF.

I’m sure that the Israelis welcome her expertise. She is obviously so much more knowledgeable than they are — as she evidently considers herself to be.

I’d like to hear here speak extensively for a half hour on her visions of diplomacy and her detailed Middle East peace plans.

She has done such a bang up job on our border, why can’t she go make sure the Israeli border is secure?

We “supported” Israel after the hamas attacked, now we are giving Hamas supplies and Israel weapons.
