The Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling on Trump’s ballot eligibility after he challenged a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to bar him from the 2024 primary ballot.
In December the Colorado Supreme Court disqualified Trump from the 2024 ballot.
All 7 Colorado Supreme Court justices were appointed by Democrats – 3 of the justices dissented to the ruling.
The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.
Trump has not been charged with engaging in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.
Oral arguments before the Supreme Court on Trump’s ballot eligibility wrapped in early February.
The Supreme Court expressed skepticism as they heard arguments from Colorado lawyer Jason Murray. Even the liberal justices expressed concern.
“Why should a single state have the ability to make this determination not only for their own citizens but for the rest of the nation?” Justice Kagan asked.

I see that they had arguments on Feb. 8. From an article on today’s unsigned unanimous ruling:
“During Feb. 8 oral arguments, the majority of the justices had signaled openness to reversing a December decision by the Colorado Supreme Court to kick Trump off the primary ballot.”
Think the Left has for the most part surrendered least for now but they will be back..
That’s actually not a strong defense. The president is not the government or even the head of the government , he is the head of one third of the government. If the president decided to disband Congress and the judiciary by force, that would certainly qualify as an insurrection. So yes, the president could be guilty of insurrection. That’s not the case here, but to try to say the president could not be guilty of insurrection against his own government is a losing argument.

I was just reading a very disturbing piece on the National Pulse.
Turns out for three years the Left has been working on a back-up plan if Trump wins and they can’t steal it. It is very plausible and very scary:
Step 1) Import 10 million illegals and distribute them strategically to Democrat strongholds in order to affect the census.
Step 2) Use the census data and partisan judges redistrict (gerrymander) to pick up congressional seats for 2024 - winning back a house majority.
Step 3) In the height of all irony, Democrats will refuse to certify a Trump victory on January 6, 2025.

Cant. At least using 14th amendment. Stated in this ruling Congress can NOT use it if Trump wins in November.
Thank God it was 9-0. If even one went against the ruling they would say that one was right and others wrong. Would have been a Constitutional Crisis. Actually I think this was one.

I thought I had read that the USSC had already ruled on this & that Mr. Trump would definitely be on the ballots. Am I reading news ahead of time here or what??? I have a friend who doesn’t like Biden but would definitely NOT vote for Trump. Thinks he is completely unsuitable as a president or maybe even as a person. The arguments for these views were explained & I tried to make it plain that, while he was possibly not a perfect person, he still did a good job of running the country when he had served previously & that Biden was an utter disaster in every sense of the word. Guess we ended up agreeing to disagree on this one. I will vote on election day & this other person will probably not vote.
