CNN Appears on the Verge of an Epic Collapse
The Federalist ^ | 3.2.2024 | Matt Margolis

CNN has been desperately treading water for years now. The former king of cable news has been bleeding ratings for years, with Fox News typically topping all the networks night after night. CNN still fancies itself the "most trusted name in news," yet, even former CEO Chris Licht admitted last year that that trust — assuming at one point they actually had it — is long gone and they need to restore it. He didn't last long.

The problem, of course, is that CNN claims to be fair and without bias, yet anti-conservative views have long been part of its DNA, as the network's on-air talent routinely bases its reports on Democratic Party talking points. Even token conservatives on the network are a joke, and sound more like liberal pundits.

The struggling network is now desperately trying to get out of its death spiral, and step one is to cut costs by axing the remaining big name talents who have extremely large salaries.

New CEO Mark Thompson is preparing ruthless cuts to remake the network as ratings plunge — leaving Anderson Cooper, Chris Wallace, Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper facing dates with the axman, a source says.

“Anderson knows he’s on the chopping block because he makes a whopping $20 million a year. He’s already started looking for a new gig!” a network insider exclusively tells In Touch. “Chris Wallace takes $8 million and figures he’s a likely target, too!”

Insiders say other network favorites — including $15 million man Blitzer and $8 million gent Tapper – are also bracing for the boot!

I kinda miss Brian Stelter.

Or, rather, I miss Marc Dice’s hilarious voiceovers of Brian Stelter.

I think they see their jobs as pushing propaganda to those who may be vulnerable to it, which is still a huge chunk of the country (we see the same here, by the way). For the others, including most FReepers, they don’t really care what we think of them as there’s nothing they can do (at this point) to silence us.

So, if they can simply get HALF of the country to believe things like:
1. Safe and Effective
2. No Provocation
3. Russian ‘Collusion’
4. Ukraine is fighting for ‘Democracy’
5. The border is secure

Then it’s still better than having all of the country believing the opposite. So they stick around, regardless of how much we mock them.

A good occasion to throw a party. I’ll wait as it may just not happen. Too much B.S out there. St. Patty’s day would be great.

A European friend turned me on to Paiki Sharma(YouTube). No Trump supporter but definitely different.

>>>Elon Musk should buy them out and do for CNN what he did for Twitter.

And how many times has CNN been reorganized during its death spiral? Let’s just enjoy it’s demise & be a reminder of what not to be.

They will have to die and owners will have to start a whole new thing.
Can’t just get a few real conservatives to offset their left wing hatred of anything not” left.”
Too many conservative outlets will destroy the new CNN narrative.
Good riddance to trash.

All they need is a few heads with a big mouth to pipe out that RAT propaganda. They don’t need talking heads with multi million dollar paychecks because few people watch.

When I used to fly more often, the airports had that CNN crap everywhere. If I was within earshot of the broadcast, I would listen for 2-3 minutes to verify they were still broadcasting horsepuckey. If I ever heard or viewed any advertisements on CNN, I would make a mental note to never purchase that product/service.

Reminds me of that 1970s program with Leonard Nimoy “In Search Of.” They would take so-called ‘mysterious’ subjects and discus, speculate. I majored in Spanish and archaeology in college, until I learned you cannot pay a mortgage, or anything else, with archaeology. I did get to participate in some excavations in Central America, and I was well-versed in much of the ancient North, Central, and South American civilizations. During some of the In Search Of episodes, they would say some things were ‘unexplainable.’ I would tell whoever I was with that I could ‘explain’ what was on the television screen. Sometimes people would not want to hear the truth, enjoying the ‘mystery’ of it all. Other times people wanted to learn, or test me on the confidence of my statement that I knew what was on the screen. Of course, I do not know the truth of every episode, but after enough times of explaining, some people ceased watching the program. The idea that humans, Egypt, Central America, wherever, needed aliens to show them how to survive became very old, very fast. All my teachers were real scientists, and facts are stubborn things.

The latest LIDAR technology is ‘discovering more and more about the past. Large and small cities have been revealed. I always knew this would happen, with or without LIDAR. The first scenes in the Indiana Jones movie show ancient structures that the jungle has taken back. Unless you work everyday to keep the forest, rainforest back, it will soon digest whatever humans construct. We did not experience the local headhunters, but the images of the outside of the ruins looked very accurate.
