I will agree to pay reparations to anyone who can prove that he was ever my slave.
I will not pay reparations to anyone whose ancestors may have been one of my ancestor’s slaves over 150 years ago.
Exactly. For myself, I don’t know of any of my ancestors who ever owned a slave in the U.S., as they were pretty much all Midwestern farmers back then. Not many were even in this country during the Civil War.
So I wasn’t a slaveowner, and my ancestors weren’t either. No reparations from me.
