US Air Force member Aaron Bushnell has died from his injuries after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, an official confirmed on Monday.
A US Air Force spokesperson confirmed to The Post that 25-year-old Bushnell died overnight to The Post, though she did not officially name him citing the ongoing notification of next of kin.
Officials were still contacting family members Monday and will not officially announce his death until 24 hours after that is complete, the Air Force representative said.

There was no immediate word on Bushnell’s cause of death.
A harrowing video livestreamed on Twitch on Sunday afternoon appeared to show the serviceman dressed in uniform standing in front of the embassy and identifying himself as a member of the US Air Force.
“I will no longer be complicit in genocide [in Gaza]. I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest,” Bushnell reportedly said, before setting himself ablaze and repeatedly crying out “Free Palestine.”
Just hours before his deadly act of self-immolation, Bushnell posted a final message on Facebook.

Yup...the fact that he did it to himself would indicate that self preservation was turned off in his brain. Not a good mindset for a soldier...he probably was not an important “missileer”. He was a good lesson in that he exhibited the range of human thinking abnormalities.

Yeah, I’m sure the Israeli Consulate saw it and said “Well I guess that really showed us!”
Having seen events like this before....there will be a ‘tribunal’ to interview virtually everyone in his unit. As a minimum....at least two will get some kind of formal papers when admitting he’d had been acting goofy for months.
Here’s the thing....for the past 20 years, they’ve been recruiting people like him, and I’d guess at least 10,000 need some type of in-depth mental help. In the 80s/90s, you would have written up papers and had them discharged within six months. Today? They are so low-manned....they have to keep them and hope they can control their issues.

Yep- when the military shows a kid with 2 moms instead of a mom and dad as their recruiting videos, sane people begin to back away from the military, and enrollment drops dramatically.
To join the air force in this country, don’t they evaluate their mental health?
