130+ House, Senate Republicans join forces in opposition of Biden's upcoming EV mandate

FIRST ON FOX: A bicameral coalition of more than 130 Republican lawmakers penned a letter to the White House on Thursday, urging it to withdraw proposed tailpipe emissions regulations, forcing a transition to electric vehicles (EV).

The Republicans — led by Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa, and Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho — argued that the regulations issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are a "de facto EV mandate" phaseout of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. They addressed the letter to President Biden and Shalanda Young, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, which is expected to soon finalize the regulations.

"President Biden has made his intentions clear," Feenstra said in a statement. "He would rather force American families — who are already facing financial hardship under the weight of inflation spurred by trillions in wasteful government spending — to buy electric vehicles to advance his Green New Deal agenda than allow folks to choose the best car or truck for their families, businesses, and farms at an affordable price."

"This misguided decision also strengthens China while weakening our economy because the critical materials needed to manufacture electric vehicles are primarily sourced from China," the Iowa lawmaker added. "Alongside Senator Mike Crapo, I’m proud to lead nearly 140 of my colleagues in urging President Biden to withdraw the proposed rule that would attempt to replace liquid fuels and combustion engines with unreliable and unaffordable electric vehicles."

Feenstra added that stories of Americans stranded in the cold waiting for their EV to charge during the winter provided further evidence that mandating EVs nationwide is "ridiculous."

Overall, under the proposal, which EPA unveiled in April 2023, the White House projected that 67% of new sedan, crossover, SUV and light truck purchases would be electric by 2032.

“130 Republican lawmakers penned a letter”

Well, that’s certainly what they’re best at......that and harsh words.

“A bicameral coalition”

Does Bikamela know about this?

The author means “bipartisan.” The word “bicameral” refers to a legislature with two separate assemblies, chambers, or houses.

219 in the House. 49 in the Senate.

So nearly half of the party.

Seems about right. 🙄

Most Republicans are Democrats

No Democrats are Republicans.

A note about this coming through the EPA --- in the next Democrat administration will the EPA say that EV's should be banned because they're killing us?

Sound crazy? Think about it. Obama's EPS pushed (read: forced) many companies, especially power companies, to switch from coal fueled planets to "clean burning natural gas" fueled plants. The next Dim president, Biden, is now saying natural gas is killing us all and should be curtailed. Don't be surprised if they do the same with EV's and such.

It just a fact 24 is the absolute last chance to save our country. Trump loses it is finished. There will be no stopping any of this if the rats keep the Presidency. A stacked SC, 2 new rat states, no voter ID, amnesty on and on, it will be over.

Art 1 Sec 8 includes no such power to “mandate” anything...

When are we going to remember that we as a Country don’t have to put up with this sh*t?

Seriously... What happened to all the legislators, adjudicators, and enforcement types that would point this out and say, “F*ck that...”

Part of Nixon’s legacy still haunts us at that satanic cabal of dirtbags, and it’ll never go away.

Thank you for referencing that article Libloather.

"130+ House, Senate Republicans join forces in opposition of Biden's upcoming EV mandate"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Why didn't FN mention the following concerning election year federal RINOs versus Biden unconstitutional environmental policy?

All that RINOs, who are seemingly protecting Biden by refusing to impeach him despite an alleged mountain of evidence to do so, need to do to stop Biden politically correct environmental policy dead in its tracks is to point out that the states have never expressly constitutionally given the feds the specific power to police the environment.

Democratic and Republican Trump supporters need to immediately primary ALL incumbent federal lawmakers up for reelection this year (YOU'RE FIRED!), except for MTG, Gaetz & Company (and others?), and replace them with patriot lawmakers who will support hopeful Trump 47 to finish draining the swamp.

House + Senate Repubs in this case (see the headline...). Bicameral is correct here.

Going to the garage right now to upgrade my 60 year old classics. I will save $100s of thousands of dollars by keeping them running.

The next step will be to deny registration on all cars over 20 years old. It’s already being done in europe.
