KRAMATORSK, Ukraine, Feb 21 (Reuters) - As the Ukraine war enters its third year, the infantry of 59th Brigade are confronting a bleak reality: they're running out of soldiers and ammunition to resist their Russian invaders. One platoon commander who goes by his call sign "Tygr" estimated that just 60-70% of the several thousand men in the brigade at the start of the conflict were still serving. The rest had been killed, wounded or signed off for reasons such as old age or illness.

“ Why has Ukraine been incapable in three years of ramping up domestic munitions capability? We are not talking about high tech munitions”

Possibly because they were constantly being given fish instead of being encouraged to fish?
This has high “REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! {check engine}” potential.
It was a show to try to get more weapons support. It failed as a military operation, but the money and weapons still flow in so in that regard I guess they think it was somewhat successful.
Agreed.
I really don’t believe that the US ever thought it would win this.
Putin and Potato-Head met before this started. I believe that what has transpired is what was agreed to.
It’s like throwing money at the Palestinians while providing arms to Israel.
Peace is Our Profession, but war is big business.
We have been saying this from the very beginning. Russia has the clear advantage militarily. Thus, the best route to pursue was to intervene to negotiate a settlement so that Russia would not invade.
Biden can use our tax dollars to pay mercenaries. Apparently it’s his duty to protect Ukranian borders!
I don’t back Russia, I just detest the stealing of our money for the benefit of our garbage overlords and for the sponging Eurotrash that refuse to spend their own money defending themselves.
You go fight yourself and leave American boys out of it you vampiric goblin.
They were Soviet weapons, not Russian. Ukraine is a successor state to the Soviet Union for all that was within its borders.
This war is a repetition of the same USA proxy-war mistake we’ve made for decades. I would never send our troops there, I would never have participated at all and no war would have happened.
I raised the question because if a war is required for our security that’s what we would do, hopefully. This conflict doesn’t seem to have helped the USA security situation at all. We look weaker to me now, not better.
Putin wanted to negotiate peace at the start, but Biden/Boris Johnson refused to allow it, azzmunch
You Zeepers have blood on your hands - a lot of it. And blood of Ukrainians who you claim to care about.
Sure, put your boots on pal, you can lead the charge. But as far as Gen-Z....forgetaboutit.!
Just what Biden admin wanted
Name calling, already, so early in our relationship?
How juvenile.
Goodbye.
Hastening????? Interesting word choice to use about a war entering its third year. Though I tend to agree about the Ukie Spring offensive. Launching a general attack on a foe with more troops, more equipment and arty, more air power has rarely worked well in the long term. Especially if thar foe doesn’t mind its losses and the Russian military history says the leadership rarely does. Not that anyone should research my boring post history but I did say way back when that this war reminded me of the Winter War except that the Finns had the good sense to cut their losses.
"
ZEEPER FOLLIES PINGLIST!
... to be added to the best entertainment since Paul Shanklin parodies - courtesy of Zeepers - ping me bro.
The globalists are making a lot of money on their defense company investments.
I would have led the charge to make peace, not war. I don’t believe in the efficacy of proxy-wars.
How juvenile you Hammer and Sickle children are.
Look at my posting history and you'll see that I very, very rarely post anything re: the invasion.
Russia had 2 signed treaties with Ukraine; recognizing the borders and sovreignity of Ukraine.
Putin broke both, when he invaded in 2014 and then in 2022.
Ukraine knew that nothing negotiated and signed by Russia would be honored by them.
Obama / Biden, also broke the Budapest Memorandum when they supported the overthrow of Yanukovich.
Both, Russia and the West are responsible for this war and it never should have happened.
I believe every sovreign nation has the right to self defense, from invasion and I believe that a country's word should be it'bond.
Do you think Ukraine should surrender, peacefully walk onto the cattle cars and enjoy the scenery, on the way to the "filtration camps"?
History has shown that doesn't end well.
