If sufficient energy was available at a reasonable price could water be supplied from deep aquifers? Or would it need to be desalination ocean water pumped by pipeline instead? I should think there is essentially unlimited ocean water available if we has a mind and determination to achieve it.

I have zero desire to live where water is naturally so hard to come by - it wouldn’t take much to be in dire straits if someone wanted to cause trouble.

I live in the Pacific Northwest.

Several years ago, I wanted us to move to AZ, near Scottsdale. Hubs said absolutely not, due to their dire water situation.

We live in the swamp of SETX, so, our chance of running out of water is much less, than there.
