If you’re going to end fossil fuel subsidies how about also ending solar and wind subsidies and make it a level playing field.

1. What “subsidies” for fossil fuels is he referring to.

2. The majority of states do not have a giant problem with wildfires. That is a problem for the states where whildfires are a big problem and not a federal issue beyond federal management of federal lands (which by the way should be drastically reduced).

3. All state and federal tax incentives and subsidies for electric vehicles need to be ended. They will never be cost effective alternatives until those incentives are removed and EV makers have to compete without them.

I’ve clicked on a half a dozen links and can’t find any specifics about Schiff’s plan to raise $13 billion (over ten years) by “eliminating fossil fuel subsidies.”

What is he considering a fossil fuel subsidy? Any tax rate under 100 percent?

The old chestnut used to be the expensing of intangible drilling costs. I never could figure out what the useful economic life of a dry hole was supposed to be, but I do understand why enviros opposed expensing. Their goal has always been sabotage. So what is Schiff proposing now?

Schiffty is doing a smart thing — going hard after Garvey to elevate him into the runoff and box out Lee and Porker.
